This was the first performance of this song in 28 years. The last time he played this was in 1977, the night Ronnie Van Zant died.

What can one say...even in the tiny islands his songs made life better...difficult man that Neil Young. So many great albums, so many great songs ...he changed my life, this relationship will only end when I go to the paradise, comforted by the fact that others will fill in for me. poetry in motion and substance...

I always thought the two best songs on Harvest were this song and "Words". That's saying a lot, I know, considering all the other great ones: "Harvest", Heart of Gold", and "Old Man", as well as "The Needle And The Damage Done". Just a great, great album. His only number one album, and it scared him to think he might be considered "middle of the road".

After many years of polls amongst NY fans Old Man has been voted best tune over Heart of gold .Deserved in my humble opinion. HOG is still interesting as it has phrases ,lyrics etc that seem to me that are taken from the Henry V111 Greensleeves tune that is attached to no author except that one of Henry’s many minstrels wrote it.Running Dry A requiem for the Rockets is unmistakable Green sleeves .

Alabama (Alabama) Oh Alabama Oh Alabama The devil fools Le diable déjoue With the best laid plan. Les plans les mieux conçus. Swing low Alabama Tourne au ralenti Alabama You got spare change Tu as de la ressource You got to feel strange Tu dois te sentir bizarre And now the moment Et c'est maintenant que l'instant Is all that it meant. Prend tout son sens. Alabama, you got Alabama, sur tes épaules The weight on your shoulders Tu portes le poids That's breaking your back. Qui te brise l'échine. Your Cadillac Ta Cadillac Has got a wheel in the ditch A une roue dans le fossé And a wheel on the track Et une autre sur la route. Oh Alabama Oh Alabama Banjos playing Des banjos jouent Through the broken glass A travers les vitres brisées Windows down in Alabama. Les fenêtres tombent en Alabama. See the old folks Regarde les vieux Tied in white ropes Ligotés dans des cordes blanches Hear the banjo. Ecoute le banjo. Don't it take you down home ? Ça ne te ramène pas au pays ? Alabama, you got Alabama, sur tes épaules The weight on your shoulders Tu portes le poids That's breaking your back. Qui te brise l'échine. Your Cadillac Ta Cadillac Has got a wheel in the ditch A une roue dans le fossé And a wheel on the track Et une autre sur la route. Oh Alabama. Oh Alabama Can I see you Puis-je te rencontrer And shake your hand. Et te serrer la main Make friends down in Alabama. Fais-toi des amis en Alabama. I'm from a new land Je suis d'un pays nouveau I come to you Je viens vers vous And see all this ruin Et je vois tout ce gâchis What are you doing Alabama ? Qu'est-ce que tu fabriques, Alabama ? You got the rest of the union Tu as tout le reste de l'Union To help you along Pour te tendre la main What's going wrong ? Qu'est-ce qui ne va pas ?
