I really enjoy your videos. I’m a retired educator in Tennessee who grew up on the farm and had a small garden most of my life. My Dad had a IH 140. I have two sons, they have the 140 and are about to start it’s restoration. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of both gardening and the 140!

Hey Mr Nixon That’s wonderful that your sons have it. Hope all goes well with the restoration. Thanks for watching and commenting.

ive only been using farmall tractors for 2 years now and im really enjoying them a lot instead of just using tillers . it sure does allow the gardens to get larger with a lot less physical work . ive been market gardening over 25 years now . but the tractors have allowed me to farm a lot more area and a lot more produce for the home and market . people are finally realizing the FULL value of growing and eating their own fresh produce , eggs , meat , and fish .thank you joey for all your hard work in the ministry and the field , GOD BLESS !

I think I’ve watched at least half your videos today. Great stuff and information for a guy that has his grandfathers 140 but no grandfather to tell about it and how to use it.

Lol I was just watching the 140 in the corn patch. Good red dirt . I try to be as correct in what I tell folks as possible and when I’m wrong I will admit it.

the farmall cub and my super A , have greatly enhanced my food growing abilities along with some courses at the L.S.U. ag center have totally broadened my horizons , very intensily , along with what i learned from my grandfather and my greatgrandfather as a teenager working in their gardens . the knowledge from them , l.s.u. , the bible , and guys like you on youtube and putting it all into practice into the soil has paid off tenfold ! im glad i kept a journal through my teenage years .

its gotten between eating wild meat like deer , hog , turkey , duck , crawfish , catfish , my own yard eggs and chicken that i dont spend a lot in the grocery store no more . especially since they started going nuts on their prices in the past 7- 8 years . i married a filipino lady 5 years ago and we eat a LOT of stir fry and a lot more heathier foods than im used to which has been a godsend for my health . my wife and our kids are the greatest blessing in my life now . all 7 kids and one grandson . plus me and my wife . God has blessed me , immensily .

amos snow Farming and Fixing its really just a metal building behind their home with probably 1/4acre of salvage tractors. It was a 2hr ride for me. They are great people with a lot of stuff, was curious myself but most of their smaller items are free shipping anyway so really not worth a long drive.

Another good video. Dang shame people have to be on the constant look-out to find what they need and also have to figure out how to attach and use the needed attachments. KZbin is a great help.Someone messaged me complimenting me on my new "toy" tractor (one of the 140's) Grrrrr! It may be small but for what I needed it for there is none better. Going to another auction next Friday: don't need anything but there is another bush hog offset disc and another chisel plow that caught my eye. If cheap enough they'll be on my trailer as spares if nothing else.Might find a pile of 140 stuff if I'm lucky.

The bottom plow is an IH 214. That Holland transplanter was exactly like the one my Granddad had. I have spent quite a bit of time in one of the seats on that thing planting tobacco and sweet potatoes. You have a nice set of equipment for your 140. I still like the old time equipment myself.
@Jtwes4 жыл бұрын
Thank you sir and if you had a tractor that didn’t idle down good pulling that planter you were in for a rough time lol
@stanleyharrell60094 жыл бұрын
Jtwes Granddads 140 would idle down nicely. My Dad was a tractor mechanic and he kept that 140 running great. But yeah, that transplanter could ride just a bit rough.

I’m enjoying watching your videos, I bought a farmall 100 this year and they’re so versatile! Your videos are helpful for someone like me that doesn’t know much about tractors. Have you got a video of how you set up hilling disks? If not it’s fall and I’m not too worried this year. Thanks in advance!
@Jtwes4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and subscribing to the channel. Are you talking about disk to make up rolls. If so I don’t think I have a setup video but I do have some video of roll making. I will do one early next year when I get ready to plant potatoes. Thank you again .

Jtwes I have two sets of hilling disks that I can mount either on the front or the rear of the tractor, I’m just wanting to make sure I’m using them right. You sound like you’re from NC as well, I’m near Goldsboro. Don’t need a bush hog do ya?
@Jtwes4 жыл бұрын
Chris Bledsoe I would mount them on the front arms with cuffs and mount shovels , or sweeps behind the back tires. I live in Caswell co NC . I would love to have a bush hog but unfortunately the budget doesn’t lol

No not really. The sunflower video I had the the rolling cultivators on the tractor because I was cultivating some corn before I started planting. I just left them on . Haven said that I did let them down some when I was planting but it didn’t move much dirt. Thank you for watching.

What do usually set the spacing at between the rolling cultivators. I have c tine sweeps on the front of my cub and noticed that it seemed to knock the corn over some as I was cultivating. I have regular sweeps the rest of the way back. It still didn’t throw dirt to the center of the row like it should. I’m thinking maybe I need to adjust. Thanks for the great videos
@Jtwes4 жыл бұрын
The spacing is about 7 inches. But keep in mind those rolling cultivators are made to move a lot of dirt. I’m going to do some cultivating tomorrow with some side sweeps . I haven’t used any since I was a teenager. Lol
@bluedodge19944 жыл бұрын
Jtwes please make a video of it. You can’t put a price on your knowledge. I’ve had my cub for a few years now but right after I got it the block cracked and I had to find a new block and build a new engine so this is really my first year of trying to figure it out. Maybe I’ll make a video of mine since I need to side dress some nitrogen and you can tell me what I’m doing wrong. Thanks again.
