You need the bar in the front center, when you drop the plow you can lower the (front cultivator) while lowering the back and adjust it accordingly, that's the way we do ours, it will let the back of the harrow down when you lower it
@Jtwes4 жыл бұрын
Might just try that.👍

@@Jtwes I love your videos btw! That 140 is a cultivating tractor! We have a double bottom 14 inch moldboard plow we use with ours, that center bar needs to be adjusted accordingly when using it too, but it does a good job of breaking the ground in the winter so it can freeze and be good and mellow by spring

I enjoy watching the videos the 140 will do the job. It not me but I would put crimson clover in the corn field to build your soil and put Nitrogen in the soil as well.

Enjoyed it. Ready for that plowing video. Need some pointers on my IH plow, just restored it never put it in the dirt
@Jtwes4 жыл бұрын
I’ll probably be doing some plow videos in September

I would probably have mowed that plot then raked it then turn plow before I put harrows to it. Like your harrows. What make are they?

One is a King Harrow and my other two are IH .

Looks like it worked pretty good! I too have a fast hitch, and I'm trying to decide between locating FH implements, or getting a 3 point hitch conversion, then just buying cheap 3pt equipment.. choices choices.
@Jtwes3 жыл бұрын
Hey Wesley thanks for watching. You know that’s kinda why I built it. IH 1 point is getting hard to come by and if you do find it parts are getting rare.

That little piece you talked about made the difference picking up my 122 disc that came with the tractor. I think it gives it a little more leverage picking up the disc.
@Jtwes3 жыл бұрын
It will. I would love to get a IH made 122. My buddy up the road has one I used one time and it cuts real good.

Finally getting rain and a break in the high temps over here in NE Texas. Corn might be looking good tomorrow. With luck it will be too wet for me to do anything but at least look at and maybe even pull a few ears.First field work will be working on the clay in my failed pea/pinto patch.Got a plan.... Looks like you're getting an early start. Have volume off since I'm at work but will watch and listen this evening. Another good video is what I've seen.Oh, squash patch broke 300 pounds a few days ago and still making squash. Just a crazy year in that patch for squash.

Hey Joey, would connecting to the bottom hole on the rockshaft give more range of lift than the upper hole? The upper hole will probably lift more weight. I’ve only had my 140 for a couple months and I’m painting it now. Just hoping to gain some knowledge for the spring. Thanks
@Jtwes Жыл бұрын
Hey Tom I think it actually is less lift travel. I haven’t done it in a long time.

You need to make a spike tooth harrow for you disk to help breakup and smooth ground behind the disc. Just a thought

Do you know if a number 1000 international loader will fit on a 274 international I know they were meant to fit super A and international 140 but I figured since they’re so similar with some slight modifications it might fit since they are both offset tractors
@Jtwes4 жыл бұрын
I’ll be honest with you I don’t know a whole lot about those loaders on a 140 or Super a

Pull steering down and weld the gear to the shaft will take care of that
@Jtwes2 жыл бұрын
I rebuilt it last year. That shaft was tight . The only part I can’t buy is the part that was wore the most. The main steering shaft with the worm on the end.
@johnnybrown59782 жыл бұрын
Most time its the gear that goes on the shaft with bearing on top cause a lot of slack pull 3 bolt and plate drop shaft and weld shaft to gear that will help a lot on slack
@freddylageschaar60287 ай бұрын
Its lifting it higher,but also not working nice level in the soil

You’re right it doesn’t.

I thought it was a farming video? Turns out it's a video about a tractor suffering from Trichotillomania.............Lots of "Hair" pulling there....
@Jtwes2 жыл бұрын
Cs I don’t believe I know what that is.
@JeffreyWindley-n4i6 ай бұрын
If you still use your 1 piont hitch disc harrow . Lower the hitch on plow and it will level itself out and lift higher . A little cutting and wielding will fix your problem .
@Jtwes6 ай бұрын
I hope it doesn’t come to that. Lol

When I cut across the second pass to make smaller pieces and it rots faster

Where I come from we always did that, best way to break ground.

I always preferred scalloped blade like yours as opposed to round blades scalloped usually makes more efficient cuttin when on light disk. More concentrated psi on cutting edge.
@Jtwes2 жыл бұрын
I can see that. I need to find another disk harrow.
@joehuntersr-jf8du Жыл бұрын
If you want your disc cut better i went to a tire shop and got me a used 18 wheeler truck tire and put on my disc it cutting way better now it balance the disc out
@Jtwes Жыл бұрын
Hey Joe Weight is definitely the trick. Those disk are so light .
