That was nice Chris, sure a nice tractor to drive, I can understand why your Daughter love it, not too old school and not too fancy, just right

@jankotze1959 thank you! It is a very useful size- not too big or too small.

I trust the gps for speed, but you never know. Evidently it's not a perfect science. Any fertilizer is better than none. Thank you Chris.

I love that spreader!! I can see what you mean about different tractors and speeds. One task I haven't mastered, spreading fertilizer!! Awesome video Mr Chris, love the ole 544 too😁😁👌🏻👌🏻🇺🇲🇺🇲🌽🌽

@Pennies_on_the_dollar I used to be good at spreading fertilizer and then I started using GPS guidance. Now I can't seem to do well without it 🤣🤣🤣

The Ol' Farmall 544 sounds pretty good rolling over the hills there Chris. 👍🏻 You did have written permission from your daughter to use her tractor for that job right???? 😂 Thanks for the ride along.

@RandWFarmstead-TonyWalsh thank you! Unfortunately Debby caused small lakes in some of our hay fields- not sure what to do with the brown hay....

*New to hay, my rented fields have a lot of weeds in them and my hay isn’t growing well. Other than lime and fertilizer that is needed, is it worth broadcasting more seed in the fall to improve the field. Or is that a waste?* #WorldsOkayestFarmer
@dehavenfamilyfarm5 ай бұрын
@@WorldsOkayestFarmer I wouldn't spend money on seed just yet. Try to get the ph straightened out and spray for weeds (Spring is probably best for that when the weeds are small) first. It takes a few years to really take an old hay field and turn it around. Good luck!
@chargermopar5 ай бұрын
It's always a challenge trying to spread fertilizer effectively. The reward is getting great hay to bale and load!
@dehavenfamilyfarm5 ай бұрын
@chargermopar it sure is- thank you!!
@jackybruckers5 ай бұрын
If the working width is 33 feet , the spreader throws the fertiliser +_ 33 feet to both sides. If you drive on a distance of 33 feet , you get a 100% overlap , what is ideal for a good distribution of the fertiliser over the field.
@dehavenfamilyfarm5 ай бұрын
@jackybruckers The chart actually says spread width, not working width- I miss spoke in the video. Thanks!
