Looks like a pretty smooth ride. Looks better with the larger tires. I used to load my tires with plain water, but lived in GA then and didn't have worry about freezing temps. Have loaded tires with anti-freeze for customers when I worked for John Deere. Also seen people use windshield water fluid.

@@FarmallFanatic Was rare for us to get freezing temps. If it did get below freezing it was only for a few hours at night. Never cold enough to freeze solid. Had water in the tires for 20 years and never had an issue. Wouldn't do that here in PA.

We have gotten used antifreeze in 55 gallon drums from the local junkyard for free, apparently they had to pay to get rid of it so it worked out well. Although I’m running beet juice in the tubeless tractor now. Still amazes me how that large of a tire is tubeless. Are those burnout marks in the road from the old tires, just before they were taken off?

Interesting thoughts on loading tires. We removed calcium from the 15.5's on the 766 and the 18.4 on the 966. Both are radial Firestone. The 766 never misses the the fluid 3 to 4 lug bars on the ground. The 966 dualed we add about 1400 lbs of wheel weights when pulling a ripper in 3rd. Both tractors have wedge lock wheels, the clamp style your 756 has is really hard to keep tight. That is from 30 years of running loaded ties no wheel weights. We found most jobs don't require the weight, keeps the compaction down the rest of the year.

Agree and ull never need a new rim...at least from rot
@jamesolson94233 жыл бұрын
Tire fluid consumes more power, because the fluid is always being pushed uphill. I had 5 sets of wheel weights on my 1566, and 3 sets on my 1256. I also loaded the tires with fluid. While I like IH tractors, their engines, the TA, and the transmission were, by IH''s design, too far in front of the rear differential. In order to get proper weight transfer when pulling a heavy load, you have to add a lot of weight to the rear drive tires. My 1566 had a Elwood FWD, and i had 30.5 x 32 rear tires..The tractor wighed over 20,000 lbs. I needed every bit of it when I injected liquid manure with my calumet 4500 gallon liquid manure spreader.

if it seals properly, it won't hurt your rims. You got a great deal on the tires. The 16.9-34 tires are not enough on a W-9, let alone a 756. We have a few 706 diesel tractors and they have 18.4-34 tires and they are adequate. The Farmalls sure handle nice on the road. The standard tread 706 and 756 the steering mechanisms are different, and when they wear, the front wheels flop and they will wander on the road.

I had a 756 Diesel with 18.4 X 38s had two wheel weights on each side and the tires were loaded had a quick attach Farm Hand loader on it had it for 20 years used it to plant and for loader work very good tractor. It would pull the 17 foot IH wing disc I had and the 5/16 Oliver plow I had too Ist high all day long if needed. It had a Rosa Master pump on it instead of the Bosch pump always had plenty of power and started good only one I ever seen set up that way. Wouldn’t pull the stuff quite as good as the 1855 Oliver I had but the Oliver had duals on it
@tyfrank34273 жыл бұрын
That got my attention. I wonder what you need to put a Roosa Master on a D-310? Those Bosch pumps are usually the reason the farmers quit running them.
@stevekeast22973 жыл бұрын
@@tyfrank3427 I’m pretty sure it was a factory update the only thing on the engine that was not painted was the pump and the injection lines and someone had wired the fuel shutoff solenoid into the ignition switch the old fuel shutoff cable was still in the dash and wired up with a cable tie on the engine. Not sure about the drive gear it looked all stock mounting ran real good lots of torque

I disagree on wheel weights being hard on the axel , ran them for years never had any trouble . 😊
@philtietje43633 жыл бұрын
I agree that wheel weights should not be hard on the axle. But if you do the math, I think in the long run wheel weights are cheaper because anytime you have a flat tire you have to call a service truck to pump the fluid out and it cost much more to repair the tire because of that. I am removing all the fluid from my two tractors one is done and the other one is going to get done this summer and I am going to repair the rims and add wheel weights that I have accumulated from auctions. Of course I do my own tire work so that saves me a lot of money.
