I had that type of carb flood on my tractor. The U shape float can get stuck (as the fuel enters in) on the carb casting just as it reaches the “normal” operative position. I bent my float so it sits a little lower inside the carb (restricting it’s full range),it was getting caught too easily when at the normal position. No problems since. Best of luck, can’t wait to see it running!

Leon, I have experienced the flash carburetor flooding many times. You turn the gas on with a dry carburetor installed and the engine floods out. I have learned to tap on the carburetor with a wrench or hammer while the carburetor is filling with fuel to make sure the float, float arm, or needle valve is/are not catching/binding when sliding into home position as the fuel fills the bowl and is lifting the float. The tapping provides some vibration to assist the float to rise properly. Mounted on the tractor out in the field the carburetor is probably not level and the vibration helps. Okay, fair enough, maybe you have done this, if so disregard.

Possibly check the float and make sure there is not a pin hole in it. I had a Tecumseh motor that the carb float had a small pin whole causing it to fill with gas.

Please put in a fresh set of spark plugs since it was flooding. Also you can shut the fuel off and use a little bit of starting fluid it should fire and sound good for a second or two.

Hey Leon I would try starting fluid see if you can get it to run on the starting fluid that runs and it’s the carburetor and I’m wondering if you have a vacuum leak around that gasket going into the manifold I will go back to the original carburetor If it was me out in the field I would try starting fluid really and see what it does I have a mobile heavy equipment repair business and farm tractors and I run into the stuff all the time she still run first on starting fluid

Change the oil when you get it figured out. #1 enemy of oil is fuel
