Great video Squatch! Also, another method I used to protect the seals from the axle splines was to wrap the axles in shrink wrap. It is super nice because you can grease the plastic wrap, and then just peel it right off. The belt pulley shafts are known for heavy wear at the rear end due to just being a splash lubricated bushing. Many times, I am told, farmers/mechanics drilled the rear of the housing for a grease zerk if they were doing excessive belt work. The crappy part (for guys without appropriate tools) is the bushings are not available from any CASE IH dealers... You, my friend... Have the ability to turn new shafts and make new bushings. Where were you when I did the H belt pulley?! ha ha. Look forward to the next one.

Better to find the problem now than when you're out in the field wanting it to work.
@haydenc27424 жыл бұрын
Well one thing is...with the thicker bushing it should definitely stop the problem of it eating into the metal housing by providing a much thicker wear material...in so much that if/when it ever does get worn it will be so sloppy it will make lots of noise before it self destructs (letting you know it needs to be fixed) Great video..keep em coming!

Custom one off parts! I would only take off what is needed to clean it up. No need to take it all the way down to a fractional size. The more meat left the stronger it is and the longer it wears.

Wondering if any needle bearings would fit. Instead of a bronze bearing?
@Danglebarry624 жыл бұрын
A bronze plain bearing has far better low and moderate speed load bearing and shock bearing abilities than a needle roller. Newer isn't always better.

Looks like they put that bushing in backwards too so that the oil hole was in the wrong place. Could explain it being all chewed up. BTW, if you want 9 minutes of entertainment, agrifoto just did a piece on some farmer in the Netherlands pulling plows with an RD6 and a D6.

I am willing to bet if you don't find and fix this reassemble and paint the tractor and take it to a show, put it on a Baker fan to get an idea of the horsepower that just might cause one hell of a problem. Then you have a headache that a pill can't reach.

are you going to groove the housing... where the bushing fits.. so if it spins.. it will still get oil to the shaft.. i am taking you are also perhaps going to locktite the second half of the bushing in place... so the lock tite does not get into the groove you ground with your 1/4" die grinder with a ball burr..

If one looks for a problem in an old piece of equipment, it can usually be found and very wise to correct it when in there rather than taking it apart again. "The Squatch Team" has been down that road many times. BTW, will there be some wood pecker style "Squatch Team" caps available someday?

Squatch, you know, if you just got the injection pump on the 350 Diesel Farmall fixed, perhaps you could convince Senior to leave the loader off the Super M. Also in your 350 Diesel first start in 15 years video, what's the Prairie Gold machine behind the Super M at the beginning of the video?

@kevintheilen96434 жыл бұрын
It's kinda quaint to have the now useless belt pulley on the tractor and I guess it's nice to keep it complete, but in the time you'll spend waiting for the bushing plus the lathe time and then reassembly- again all for something you'll never use, I'd sure consider just making a plate. Also removes the temptation to try using that crazy-dangerous belt system.
