We have been getting the big cold and the township is dumping all their salt on the roads so it don't harden up in the salt barns. I was watching 'In the Heat of the Night' and was watching what were the new Farmall's when they were in the Mayor's dealership. I like the wide front 400 and the 450 in that order.

After seeing the full preview I’d take the 400 with fast hitch. 450 not having fast hitch is the only thing that would hold me back.

The plow was a lighter one that would work on a 300. The clamshell fenders are for a utility tractor like a 460 or 606 or something like that because they have a back light mount and the Farmalls don't, except perhaps the later ones like the 706. Dual hydraulics are more common on the larger tractors like the 600 and 650 than the 450. I can't say as I ever seen a kicker wagon at an auction. The New Holland bale wagons are much more popular here. Maybe you can get a Super MTA or 450 in Diesel. Would be nice to have a fast hitch on one of those for your 311 plow.

My Dad bought a 52 Super M that was weighted up like that 450 with 15.5/38s rear tires.Come to find out that the counter bore in the block wasn't correct, so to fix it the block was bored and oversized sleeves and pistons were put in. You want to talk about a Super M with emphasis on SUPER!!

Firestone does still make the Field and Road tire, in select sizes. I just bought a pair of 14.9x38's. My tire dealer couldn't believe they had them in Des Moines! He locked them in, I picked 'em up the next morning.

I converted my Super M to 12 volt I bought my kit off of a mininite and it did come with the 12 volt coil but it didn't have the internal resister on it so I need to get the external resister because the coil got so hot that you couldn't put your hand on it

Both of those look nice! That 450 is style of hood I like the looks of or the later model turbos, I think they are the best looking tractors out there. Don't get me wrong there's some others in certain years that should be fixed up like a few you walked by but the IH has the look I think of when I think of a tractor. You might need someone to help you get a bigger tractor shed/shop so you don't have any outside.
