I've had friends run straight stacks and they see you get sick of them after days and days on end. My ears are still ringing from the 318 V8 Detroit days I can hear that thing in my sleep going wah wah wah wah wah from Oklahoma City all the way to Denver.😊

They are only hauling 30, 45 minutes at the outside so listening to the drone for hours on end isn't a problem. But I get what you are saying. I drove a straight pipe Ram Cummins from Indiana to Oklahoma and back. Ahhh!

Wisc requires shields on exhaust pipes, got a ticket from dot. They try to tell me it was too loud but I had resonators underneath. Got a couple of burns on the arms from getting in and out before getting chrome shields. Lesson learned, also needed a grab bar to get in. 94 Pete sleeper delete

You guys need a can of ECK for your shop. It's a zinc rich paste that really helps stop corrosion on fasteners. The road chemicals and weather attack the zinc before rust will start. It's even useful to put between pieces of metal so that rust doesn't start where water and dirt gets trapped.

You might want to check to make sure, j was told US Dot requires heat shields over the exhaust.

They make a wax stick to apply on stainless steel bolts so they don’t seize up . Antiseize doesn’t work on stainless steel bolts 18:22

Exhaust you always start at the motor and work your way to the back, Tighten the clamps until the nuts stop

Make yourself a 2 or 3 foot long rectangle box about 6 inches wide out of wood. Put 2 hooks on it to hang from the top bar of the lift. One can hang it on the inside or outside. Retired electrician here, that's where the EMT fittings went.

I love the new chrome pipes but it's very sad to see When you connect them together with that flex pipe stuff, Would be way nicer and cleaner fit if there was all solid pipe clamped together proper but it is what it is I guess I don't know what all they have available for those big rigs as far as exhaust. 😇😇

You should have left the Resonators off. I think it would have sounded better. I use to run a cabover with straight pipe on it and would rattle the windows on a bank going down through town at night never did set the alarm off, but you could see the windows moving

I've put so many straight pipes to make me sick. In 2003 stopped most of this stopped except if it had Cummins and 2007 no more straight pipes. Putting on 10" straights with 10" y pipe was the worst. Then if you had to pull transmission out with everything stuck together oh the fun

Put a resonator on the straight pipe exhaust on my motorcycle, and that's exactly what it does; gets rid of the popping and crackling sounds, especially when your decelerating in gear.

The tie rod on your pusher axle has those clamps for a shock. That is if they are steerable axles. The shocks keep it from jumping around on the highway.

Chet when you are using stainless steel bolts and nuts you have to tighten slowly they build heat very quickly and gaud up the threads.

And don't over torque them. They gall much more quickly that typical steel bolts.

Always lubricate stainless bolts before putting nuts on them. They will seize and break
