I was at a farm auction back around 1997 or 98 in Mercer County and there was an IH 686 gas that I believe it has a fast hitch. Its been over 25 years ago but it was really low houred and the equipment was mostly IH, shed kept and not used in close to 20 years before the sale. It was one of my uncles neighbors.

Nice auction. There again, we use chisels in a much different way than you do, and pull larger cultivators with smaller tractors. I don't care for how the guy ran the 966. Not at all. And back to the prefilling filter thing, remember that the oil filters are empty on those engines every time they are shut off. So starting them up and revving them right up like that is so hard on them. On those engines I put the throttle just over the detent, and it will run at low idle until the oil pressure comes up and then I'll pick it up to 900-1000 and let it warms up.

Three bottom snap-coupler plows grow on trees around here! That one being a 73 is kind of desirable. I have two of them, both slat-bottom. I have at least 7 other S-C three bottoms only have three two bottoms, much harder to find here. Fast-hitch plows are really hard to find and I don't know why. I have a line on a 118 Ford 4-16's fully mounted that would be right at home here! hook that baby on the 856, on the trailer and off to plow-day!
