I appreciate these videos I mean I really really do appreciate the people that take the time to do the videos not to try to be a complainer but to try to help make better videos is to actually be able to see what you're doing you called out wires that you were going to jump and you couldn't even see the wires that you were talking about because the camera was pointing below them having what you're talking about in the frame is kind of important especially that's the reason we're watching the videos is too learn these ideas and supposedly that's the reason you're putting the video on is to show how things can be done like I said I do appreciate them not trying to complain or anything even though I'm sure it sounds like that but it is hard to see what you're doing if you're not going to actually aim the camera at what you're actually talking about but I appreciate it and God bless

Chase that wire from the PCM and see if theres any obvious rubbing or weak spots. Worst case scenario just run a switch to whatever it was you jumped and put it in the cab so you can turn your fuel pump on and off whenever you want lol like a racecar

I have a 92 chev Silverado, it's a hard starter. Once the engine is warmed up runs like a chev should. I've replaced the temp sensor, all the spark plugs and plug wires. Going to replace the o2 sensor. The fuel filter is older than dirt, so I'll replace that as well. I've also replaced the fuel relay. I'm about ready to crap my pants next.

A lot of times it takes a while to leak back down fuel pressure before its hard to start again. Example: Overnight... I don't think the oil pressure has anything to with your problem.I believe the check valve in the fuel pump is bad allowing fuel pressure to leak down...

TBI fuel injection is designed to bleed down fuel pressure after fuel pump shutdown. Not same as most F.I. systems, which hold pressure up, after pump shutdown.

You need to figure out if it's a fuel issue or a spark issue. Take the air cleaner off and look at the injector while someone tries to start the engine, or spray some brake or carb cleaner in there. If you see fuel coming out, it's not a fuel issue. These trucks are notorious for ignition modules going out and not getting any spark to the plugs.

I ran my trick has its new fuel pump in when I drive on my way work it died out twice is there anything causing that

Could be a bad connection either at the ground or coming from the relay if it's fuel related. Did it start right back up after it stalled?

Took a few minutes to start right back up and I put a brand new fuel filter as well

Lots of things could cause stalling. It's very hard to pinpoint without knowing which system (electrical, fuel, ignition, etc) is causing the issue.

Once it starts. Is the fuel pump relay energized by the oil pressure switch? Would explain why your able to restart.

I did try that but it didn't work. It turned out to be a bad fuel pump relay. See part 4

I accidentally pulled out a thick guaged purple wire from the wire box on driver side firewall . The one under the cruise control box . I don't know how the wire goes back in or even where it goes.

There should be a purple wire going to the windshield wiper motor. There is also possibly be one going from the neutral safety switch to the starter. If your truck cranks, it's probably not that one.

@@farmboy30117 the wire box down under the cruise control module is the one I'm talking about. It came out of one of the terminals on the bottom half of the box. There are the two connectors up top one runs to the headlights and the other I'm not sure. But there is a thick pink wire and a thick red wire and then the thick purple one I pulled out. It's on the driver side firewall. I would post a pic but I can't on here . I just need someone who has a truck like mine 88 to 95 they all should be similar. I hooked it up to the wrong terminal once already because the truck wouldn't crank over and start until I released the key and it basically cranks itself and starts and the starter stayed engaged .

Jeremy Vasquez It sounds like it might go to the neutral safety or clutch interlock. Have you tried pulling wiring diagram from google?

Im having starting issues with my 93 chevy k3500... Last night ive replaced the coil, ICM & pick up coil.... still no start... It gets fuel... but no spark... Coil gets power but no spark... check out my video & see what u think... THANKS!!!... NEED ANY INPUT & HELP....

I think I found the issue. It's what I thought all along but got a bad one...fuel pump relay. Put a new one on and it fired right up. I'll test it a few days to make sure but I believe it's fixed.

Hey bud,, If the hard start issue happens again after sitting try this>> Try cycling the key on/off several times before actually turning the engine over. Ive seen this several times and EVERYTIME its been the fuel pump leaking down pressure while sitting. Turn the ignition on until you hear the fuel pump stop and then back off without cranking the engine over about 5 times to build fuel pressure back up. Then see if it don't start right up like it should. If so, Replace the fuel pump.

Thanks Deb, but I believe it's what I suspected all along...bad fuel pump relay. I put a new one on this afternoon and it fired up just fine. I'll make another video tomorrow.

I realize this is old but... My "93 1500 cranked but just wouldn't start. Towed it to the mechanic and they replaced the fuel pump and relay. Got it back and it actually stalled in the middle of the street. Took it back to mechanics and said they just needed to tighten up the battery/ ground cables and now it's fine. Once again took it home and it wouldnt start. Took it back. When i got it back this time they said the fuel pump they put in ended up being a bad fuel pump. ?!????!!! Now my fuel gauge doesn't work. Weeks later wouldn't start again. I noticed under the bed there's a grounding strap around the neck of the gas tank connected to nothing. Related? Not sure.... Still not confident in starting up every time and not happy with the "work" they did. SUGGESTIONS??!

The ground strap ensures the sending unit has a proper ground which may be why it's not working. It may also affect the fuel pump, so I'd recommend reinstalling it.

I have a 94 Chevy Silverado with a 5. 7 and put a new timing chain I put you knock sensor I also put a new coil I got it running for a while I was running but the my chicken light was still showing up but then out there while a week later it doesn't don't want to start any more they would kind of hustle and the kind of stumbled but I'm reading code 12 and I don't know what else how to solve this code 12 so if anybody have any experience about code 12 I sure like a feedback help me out if she would be helpful and also add that up every time I try to start it the starter kicks off it'll just but won't start starter just so I really wish that I could get some some good advice maybe I get back on Road any help out there thank you

hey I have a 93 chevy 1500, 350. I have watched a lot of videos. my problem is I am pulse to only one of my injectors, have a new ecm ,,, I am thinking map sensor. any ideas.

I assume you have power on the white and red wires going to the injectors. You could check the wires & connector at the ECM. Did it run ok before swapping the ECM or was that the reason?

That was the reason, blue wire side , left I believe

I'd check continuity between the injector and the ECM on the blue wire or take your test light and probe the blue wire at the ECM while cranking.

I think I am going to replace the map sensor, then recheck continuity. I will trouble shoot some more. Thanks
