You might not know this, but Belarus is a largely agricultural country. On all of the major highways you will drive past farmland and run into farmers selling their goods on the side of the road.
Whenever I travel to a new place, I like to check out the local farmer's market, because I usually find the freshest, best & most unique products that that place has to offer. In Minsk, the capital city of Belarus, the largest farmer's market is the "Kamarovsky Rynok" which is an enormous indoor market where you will find produce from Belarus and nearby countries.

Anything that is imported from so far away will cost more especially if it is so perishable like fruit. Even in the UK our Farmers Markets have lots of imported fruits and Vegetables as the UK cannot grow certain types of fruits . It looked to be good value and i suspect they charged you a little bit more than a local would have paid. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your journeys.

Farmers market and some good stuff. Those vendors also have a start up cost. Gas for the space. Sometimes it's tough to make a profit especially it they are not growing the fruits and vegetables.

Great question. We saw that, although the bazar was indoor, it was pretty open, things were well spread out, there weren't many vendors, and relatively few people inside. We wanted to get to know the local specialties, and figured that there was relatively low risk of catching covid as long as our hands were washed, we were wearing masks, and distancing.

My mom visited France for a few weeks when she was in high school, and stayed with a family in the countryside. When I was growing up, she would always buy some tomme de Savoie on special occasions. I'm definitely no cheese expert, but I have long wanted to go to France to find more of that wonderful cheese!

Just ran across your vlog, I found the market trip in Minsk to be very entertaining. Your end comment about the fruit cost. It is because of import prices and the cost of fuel going up. Most of the farmers live off of their fruit and vegetables and can them for the winter. I watch another channel of a girl that lives in a town of 400 people and no jobs except for working in the mine. She is young like you and single, plus lives in her grandparents house they handed to her after they past. It was built in 1948. I have learned a lot about the country farm living, and it is sad how poor the people are in that nation. but that is why it cost more for produce!! I was just dying over all the bacon, so amazing how much there was. I live in North Dakota U.S.A and I get my raw unfiltered honey from Wyoming outside of a town called Lusk in the middle of nowhere, best honey I have tasted in 13 states on the western states. The cheese I am sure was amazing and very flavorful. I love exotic and unique foods as I cook food from around the world. I meet them on here and become friends and it is amazing how kind people can be as to what the news or the government says about other countries. I am not a traveler but have been out of the U.S.A a few times. Thank you for the video and I subscribed, so I can see Belarus as I would love to visit after the war is over in Ukraine where I have friend who is staying and fighting. He is a great friend and very kind, but now he has to be a warrior. He actually makes custom knives and restores them for people and his family has an amazingly huge farm. thank you for this video and god bless.
