Looks similar to a game my brother and I played when we were kids. It involved fiberglass bike flagpoles and terror. The winner was the player who was still able to walk home after the match. Wasn't very popular with the parental unit.

Its more of efficiency of movement, maintaining the kinetic inertial force on the whacking apparatus, and making sure you deliver all that to the projectile. Strength is involved but Eddie Hall would have trouble beating someone who could spin faster than him in this sport.

I've had 3 body hits in my entire career and I'm still alive. ;) During the final approach, the Hornuss (the black or glowing puck) can still have speeds of up to 160 km / h. So it can hurt a little.
