I live on a farm where we put up a couple thousand 4’6 bales a year, and from what I’ve seen with native grasses, they always seem to stay in clumps and seem to grow back very well for second cuttings. Best of luck to you with the farm

Love to see what you are doing with the Native Prairie makes a ton of sense to better handle the summer warm season!

can native bales help seed those areas?
@Aussie-686919 күн бұрын
@CurrentChoices possibly depends on whether there are concerns about early compaction or insufficient energy reserves in the plants

To me woke means stopped sleeping. Nice to see you. I'll be happy to see the new calves. Your cows are lucky to have all those trees. They like shade . Good video. Pax.

I was in a hunting club. One of the guys had a bird dog and the old man we got Quail to train the dog got Cancer and to help him out we purchased all his quail and turned them a loose on the club. Don’t know how manny are there now but the following year we had coveys everywhere. It sure brought them back quick. I think we turned out like 250 and they were mostly small about like your fist.

Hamilton Native Outpost in central Missouri does native grasses and also sells seed. They have a decent KZbin channel that talks about native prairie, not just grasses but also native flowers.

F&H, would it be too early to feed hay on the ground this winter in the native season pasture? Take those conservation dept native grass bales and feed them on the ground to get the benefits of the extra seed, trampling, nitrogen and manure inputs from the cattle, etc. Just a thought that might help unless you have good reasons to not go that route.
