as a farmer, this is always a happy day for me especially if the prices are up

Nice video, I farm in Devon UK. It may help with your loading if you watch a few videos from Temple Grandin on how cows see their environment. Her setups at slaughter houses have been adopted world wide.

If somebody band my balls i would attack everything near. I can’t understand that the reaction is so light. They must feel less then humans down there. They say kids feel more pain then adults. Maybe the size en length of the nerves makes the banding easier on them.

Bull rental farm…..So I can rent a bull for a day? There is a basketball court nearby I could let him roam around.

Culls....being Marketed at a Special Replacement Sale??? Passing Trouble onto Someone Else, IMHO.

Blue Roan Cow was Bred. Culled Her, simply for being a Shorthorn, despite being Pregnant, Gentle, in Great Flesh with a Sound Udder. Rest of them, I agree with your Decision to remove them from your Herd Inventory.
@FarmandHammer9 күн бұрын
No, these were taken to the weigh up cow sale not a replacement sale. But yes they were preg checked at the sale. The line back roan was in great flesh because she lost her calf in August. I would have kept her if she had raised the calf.

Man that’s the cheapest cattle I’ve seen in the market😂 you got ripped open on them
@FarmandHammer9 күн бұрын
The bigger cows that sold by the pound sold well. The 3 that brought 0.42 I for sure got ripped off on. I paid $950 on average for the breds two years ago so I came out good on the little bred cows.

I really appreciate your content. Since you routinely bring livestock into your property there is obviously more risk of disease than in a closed operation. Would love to learn more about your experiences with that and how you maintain animal health-quarantine periods, vaccination program for cull cows, stockers, etc. Or maybe you already have a video out there that covers that
@FarmandHammer11 күн бұрын
Thanks, I appreciate the question. I haven't made a video about biosecurity/quarantine yet but I’ll try to talk about it in a video at some point in the near future!

You did excellent loading the cattle by yourself. I grew my herd exactly the way you are doing. One person’s cull cow, could be someone else’s best cow. I had a few surprises over the years when a new cow has a calf when I wasnt expecting it 😊 Keep up the good work !!

Osaac,any true cattleman knows that banding a bull that size insanely cruel,will put it back for weeks.opens up a would where bacteria can grow and cause severe illness.....Shame on you for doing that....bands should be put on before a bullcalf is 7 days old ..

@kimcallaghan340416 күн бұрын
Hes not hitting them, hes touching them to move them forward. Lets see you try and move a group of animals that outweigh you by 10 to 15 times your body weight, its not like dogs, cattle don't take commands
@MoziHERE13 күн бұрын
@ whether they outweigh me or not, I wouldn’t hit them to get them to move because that hurts them.

@@kimcallaghan3404 Dogs and cats are under anesthesia and the healing is over quickly because they are actually removed and not left to rot off. Yes, the end result is the same, but what they go through to achieve that end point is nothing alike.
