Thanks for these videos. I’m house hunting and have told my wife that I’d like to begin doing this sort of woodworking and building things. I’ve never done it. My father never had patience to teach me any of these things. I appreciate you taking the time to practically teach people how to do this. Once I learn I hope to teach my sons 😊. Thank you.

Question. At the beginning of your video, you have a white box with red trimming mentioning the Materials. What are the 3/4x 15" x2 Scrap bottom shelf supports?
@mmcc_woodshop6288 Жыл бұрын
It's the pieces I'm attaching to the bottom frame at 2:55 , they will hold the bottom slats in place. I just used some scrap 3/4" board that I had left over. that I cut to ~15". You could use anything similar - it's just to hold the bottom pieces in place.

Are you using pocket holes with 2.5 inch drywall screws? If so, nice way to stick it back to kreg on the overpriced square drive stuff.

@@mmcc_woodshop6288 after that comment I did a bit more youtubing and think I'm gonna start making one today. I gather the most basic design is to make a normal table and just add another level of plywood with a cutout that's the height of the saw? This stuff makes me excited
@mmcc_woodshop62882 жыл бұрын
I started with a full sheet of plywood and cut the slot out where the miter saw would sit. Then I flipped the plywood over and build a frame underneath around the boarder. I used the scrap plywood cutout for the shelf. Just made sure the boarder is the same height as the miter saw so it sits flush. I just used 2x2s doubles up for the legs and then built a bottom frame and shelf underneath that. Hope that helps!

I just completed the Custom Farmhouse TV Stand a few days ago and my wife and I love it. I like your design of the Farmhouse End Tables and am likely to build them. Would appreciate your feedback as I think I would want to duplicate the looks of the TV Stand. Meaning that I would follow the steps you applied to the TV Stand prior to assembly (square edges and plane the lumber). I would probably want to use 2 X 8's planned down to 1.25" for the top. Thanks for making this video!
@mmcc_woodshop62883 жыл бұрын
Yes you can definitely do that! Just remember that if you mill the round edges of the 2x8 then the width of the table top will be a little less than if you used 3/4" appearance board. Take that into consideration when cutting the other pieces and you should be fine!
@edgewater2103 жыл бұрын
@@mmcc_woodshop6288 Matt: Thank you for the response. I purchased the boards yesterday and decided to go with 2 X 8 appearance boards as you recommended. I am going to cut all of the pieces to the dimensions you recommended but will wait on the bottom furring strips until I have the stands built. After watching your video many times my mind is telling me that the bottom strips need to be 17.25", not 15". Just don't want to cut until I build and measure. LOL! Thanks again!

Great video! I know you said you used 2” screws, but what size drill bit did you use to pre drill holes for top pieces and “x” pieces? And was it a countersink bit?
@mmcc_woodshop62883 жыл бұрын
Thanks Justin! Any bit around 1/8 or so will work. It's not countersunk but the pine is soft so I do sink the screw in just a little bit.
@vladimike24843 жыл бұрын
This video was amazing! Thank you so much! If I wanted to make these but taller what would your recommend? Would I just make the legs taller where the bottom shelf is just off the ground more? You made this seem very doable! Thanks again
@mmcc_woodshop62883 жыл бұрын
Thank you! To make them taller, I would just make the legs longer (I would leave the bottom shelf the same height but feel free to adjust it). I personally don't measure the angles but rather overlap the X pieces and then trace them. If you're tracing as such, longer legs will just require the X pieces to be longer, rather than worrying about finding a different angle. Good luck!

What are the dimensions on the top? I have 22.5 by 21 3/4
@mmcc_woodshop6288 Жыл бұрын
The width should be 21.75” - 1x8 boards are 7.25” wide (at least by standard dimensions here in the U.S.), so 3 of them would add up to 21.75”. If you have too much width you could always rip 0.25” off each board to slim the top down a little bit
