I happen to LOVE it and Levolor blinds that work remotely fix your problem with the light. And, if you get dirty, in your yard, like we do, the laundry room is in the PERFECT place. All those doors would face east which would make most of the west side have only two windows. The best thing would be to put the living room "corner" facing Northeast and I would make sure my garage had A/C and heating. And, yes, you can do that. Because it will face the southwest. Trees would help. I just would replace the bench in the laundry room with a table to fold laundry. And a basket underneath to hold dirty laundry with wheels. You could take it all around the house to pick up the laundry. I live in a two-story home, three bedrooms upstairs and two baths. The laundry room is downstairs. So, this is a breeze. It's ONLY 1090 aqft! LOVE IT!

Efficient it isn't. The laundry room is miles away from the bedrooms and baths where laundry is generated. The plethora of huge windows is great for natural light but not for heating and cooling. I can only hope that the fireplace is gas with an external air supply. Most of the kitchen cabinets are bunched at one end. One other concern is the rather public location of the door to the family bathroom. Some people are squeamish about having bathrooms open directly into a kitchen. There are positive aspects to this plan, but efficiency isn't one of them.
