Wishing you a good recovery! That grefen parkour course really caused some major damage on you. I would sue him if I were you. Also, lovely slime farm, must have taken quite a while to dig all that out and create the floor design.

Cannon event. Greffens parkour is what injured me. Pretty sure there is a court on the server. Might be time to sue Also thanks. It did take a while but the digging was done over some time so didn’t feel like too much.

You don't need the ladder. You can mine your way down, through the obsidian. Then when you're down there you break the 2 sand pillars and you get it back up. The added effect that has is no blocks burning in lava, and sand pillars are keeping blocks from falling off the edge

The problem I thought might happen is because the sand is there the lava would spill over as soon as I removed the obsidian block.

@BoxBlair oh, i know, just place an extra sand on your climbing pillar, then stick a sign or ladder to the side to block spilling the lava, and it breaks once the pillar comes down(break the lava pillar first otherwise it's still gonna spill)

Yep, you can avoid all item loss by just making sure you're enclosed on all sides. This even works if you expand the tower to mine down through 2 or 3 blocks at a time. In a 3-block tower you need to use a trapdoor on each layer to catch any items but it's not much extra effort. It takes me about 15 minutes to fill my tower with 5.75 stacks of obsidian (bedrock to build limit x3) and then I can sit back and AFK mine for 90 minutes without losing a single item

Hope your shoulder recovers quickly I'd recommend covering the front/back of the farm with glass and leaving the sand pillars in place while you AFK mine down, that way you won't lose any items, especially if you also fill the water column with sand too. This will also eliminate the need for a ladder

Why don’t you remove the sand *after* mining the obsidian so that it doesn’t get lost in the lava?

Because I thought the lava would spill over the side of the sand creating cobble. But I’m thinking now it would only make one that could be mined later. Just assumed it would be messy. I’ll have to test just in case
