Andrew is one happy camper. He really loves raking. Big smile on his face and no complaints about heat. He looks like, "What's next. I'm ready." He's doing man's work.

"kids" enjoying the machinery of their past.. LOL. Jr just runs back to his job while Dad sits in the AC pickup running the drone.. Life is good.. Enjoyed this video, memories of haying, and none of them more enjoyable that seeing it happen while sitting at the computer.. perfect!!

Yo Andy !! Be proud the guys have sooo much respect for the "old iron"...… keeping it going and maintaining the collection is a labour of love and a true appreciation of what the older kit did and continues to do into todays face paced "shiny metal" era we live in!!! Those tractors have paid their way on the Hourigan Farm no question and I for one would love to get on a plane and land in your yard and drive that friggin awesome 4450 alongside the 8800 chopper and draw till the sun goes down and comes back up again for sure for sure!!!!!! Had the pleasure of and fond memories still spending time on a 4440 2wd with a JD 3765 trailed harvester side filling..... then a 4240s at the same game along with all the days drawing silage on a 2850 4wd 3050 4wd 3650 4wd and a 4055 4wd !!!!!! Cool hills ya got there and soooo much kudos to that young man Andrew and his half baked self in the "Non Air Con Boss"!!!!!!! Stay safe y'all!!!!

I picked up a used spreader today at a farm and he had to move his 4020 and green chopper so I could get hooked on, it started right up and purred like a kitten, very smooth and that classic 4020 sound. Someday I will get the tractor I have always wanted, the classic 4020.

Great to see all the classic iron bein used . The kids know the true value of these older tractors . One of my fave old classic tractors is the old 1984 3040 4 wheel drive . It was dynod at 127 bhp at a jd dealer in england where it had bn bought from . No radio just the noise of the 6 cyl deere engine . It is a great old tractor . The air con does actually work on it just never gotten round to putting a radio in it . Last yea the back end started to get really hot when it was working hot enough thst the paint started to peel of the underside of the back end . It was loaded up and sent down to cheffins auctions at cambridge in england last year it is in hungary now a dealer from over there bought it . . Payed big money for it too . The bjdding was strong for any tidy 40. 50 .55 series tractors woth sg2 cabs on them . Not so much the lower spec mc2 though .

@markheintz18783 жыл бұрын
That's very true. I am a trucker and in the last 12 months I have seen at least a dozen or more burned out tractors in yards and fields. Mostly 40 series Deere's, a few quad trax and a couple more articulated JD 4 wheel drives, 80 or 90 series. I went by a place on hwy 20 in western iowa this spring, and all his machinery was sitting on a concrete slab all burned up completely, tractors, combine and heads, tillage equipment, sprayer, everything was baked. I cannot even begin to imagine what the owner felt the day or night it burned. All these tractor fires are a really good reason for a battery disconnect on every single thing, especially when parked in a shed with all your equipment close by. Mice seem to really love chewing the wiring in John Deere tractor headliners.
