I laughed out loud (an actual LOL) when you brought up the "why would you plant in such a wet field." It wasn't that wet when you planted it I will bet! You guys not only have had a ton of rain lately, but your whole season has been wet. That field never had a chance to dry up. Funny thing about farming, you have to farm where the land is. Can't farm where there is no land. Great video Andy!

Andy, you sure would think those expert buggy operators would no that different soils hold moisture different. And, if they weren't so busy patting themselves on the back because they already have 5k acres out ( in 70 degree weather with no rain and 3 combines ) that high moisture corn for the bunk needs to be done at all costs . And the weather were you are changes in a hurry to crap, and cold. I would think if they are such smart and great operators, they would come up and they would help you for free. It would be great content. The girls are doing great with the rice fields of corn. Farm on young lady's, and Andy you are a Saint to deal with these no it all cart clowns . Great video 👍 🇺🇸🐄🌽🍻

Alex and Sarah are doing a great job driving in those muddy conditions, Sarah knew when to stop when she was stuck and didn’t bury the tractor in the mud so deep that it would not come out when the grain buggy was unloaded. A very unusual weather year some farmers have lack of moisture and others have too much.

Hey Andy. You’re a better man than me! I wouldn’t even entertain the trolls who want to badmouth your operations. Frankly, your family is amazing. Jarrod, Alex, Sarah and Andrew are so impressive working the farm with you. I’d venture to say there are few families (short of farming families such as yours) that work as hard together as you all do. Well done and you don’t have to explain ANYTHING about your operations to those who choose to slag you folks.

Ah that's mud for you . We are in the same situation here in southern Michigan. We run tracks on all our equipment so it isn't as bad but we still get stuck just not as often. Sarah is doing just fine ! I don't care how good of an operator you are mud is the king bottom line. Not everyone's harvest or farm is perfect nor is the conditions. but the crop isn't yours until it's sold or in the bin as grandpa used to say . I wouldn't worry about the negative comments Andy. It's always sunshine and rainbows when farming from your recliner ! The armchair and keyboard farmers are sad . Great video keep up the good work !

Andy, Sarah wasn't stuck, just immobilized temporarily. Huge difference. :) LOL professional grain cart operators... I've yet to see a single cart operator NOT get stuck. Guess people tend to forget, a combine can go through an area where a grain cart can't simply, because a combine isn't pulling dead weight behind it. What might help with the cart is, if it had tracks but, I've seen those sink down as well and still, you're pulling dead weight. Sarah and Alex are both doing an awesome job considering the field conditions. This isn't bad considering you've had what 5-6 inches of rain. Great video as always, cheers :)

I appreciate people like you and either put these videos together. We've been over this before but I farm about three or four hours south of you in the western part of PA we've had a fair amount of rain but we missed that nor'easter that you guys got last week. People don't understand what it requires to feed them and in this country with 2% of us doing the work to feed the other 98%, we have to tell our story when you have all the inputs of seed fertilizer weed control not to mention all the time you spent planning you can't just sit there and watch it and hope it weathers the winter besides that cows go to eat in your videos make it very clear that your trying to do that and take care of that herd. Our forecast down here from what I saw this afternoon doesn't call for any rain for about two and a half weeks we don't have near as much to take off as you do we should get started here late this week early next it'll be either cribbed as your corn, or shelled and binned, or shelled and shipped off the farm. So wish you the best stay safe you guys are doing a great job!

Nice initial attempt save for your daughter in the grain cart/buggy and ultimately getting her out of a jam. At first I thought you may have been working on trying to lay out some letters to spell out a (patriotic) message. Seen other farmers do this - so cool. Gotta give your daughter a chance to narrate some activities in the future - she's a champ in all her tasks and does great (you must be so proud of her). Thanks for posting Andy - your tops in your field wherever you go👍👍👍

I worked on A Broadleaf Tobacco farm that also had about 200 beef cows as well in Connecticut. A lot of the fields we worked in where in "The Meadows" aka The Connecticut River flood plane. Now getting stuck could happen almost anywhere. But the number 1 rule as a Tractor Driver was Don't Bury The Tractor. We used to keep a dozer around for that purpose of pulling out buried machines. Quick way to kill a day. I would say the girls are doing an excellent job, Reconizing machine is spinning and Stopping before its sitting on its belly.

Hi Alex, You and Sarah and the rest of the family out their working hard are doing a good job with the fields the way they are. When you planted their you didn't know that you would have gotten that much rain, any farmer has no way of knowing how much rain they will be getting that year. We had a couple of fields that we planted in and didn't have much trouble getting stuck in until the one year we had a lot of rain in October and it rained for three days straight and when it stopped raining we went back out two days later and we got stuck a lot. It was a bad year that year,

Your kids are awesome!!! mud is mud. Sometimes you just have to hope for best. It's November not September. They did great and still had a sense of humour😂

Hi Andy, Back when I was farming I liked these last couple of months doing field work. Was a change of pace with the weather conditions. Tell me, who doesn't like to spin the tires in the mud? You do great work with the videos. Keep them coming.

That much rain in summer wouldn't be a big deal, it will dry out. Rain this time of year can be tough,it doesn't dry out very fast this time of year. Great video thank you have an awesome day

I'm about a hour & 45 mins west of you. I think it was 1985, last day of sweet corn season. The factory wanted my Dad's corn they had already by passed couple of days earlier. We could only pick one way in the field & had to unload dump carts in the road. It poured the entire time. The police were called cause vehicles were getting stuck on the road... Almost a foot of mud after only 6 dump cart loads had emptied. It was a mess! Had to clean the road after every dump cart with a loader tractor & scraper. We ended up filling the ditches. We saw it that wet again in 1987... Pain in the rear, but I remember it like it was yesterday.

THE PROFESSIONALS AhhYes the professionals. Very well explained Andy but those are typically the ones that don’t think before running their traps. Upstate New York has probably never had perfect weather for planting AND harvest it’s just the animal that’s called Mother Nature Great work 🍻 here’s hoping the rest of the season goes smoothly.

Andy, you do not need to comment on these "PROFESSIONAL" operators! Everybody understands! The realistic geographic area you farm!
