Regarding the same chain that people think makes everything equal: Torque is a function of log times chain. RPM will reduce in the cut until engine torque equals the resistance of the cut. At that RPM, power will determine how much 'work' or speed of cut. To maximise speed of cut, the torque required, or resistance of the chain, should be estimated at the engine torque at maximum power RPM. Different saws will make different torque at maximum power RPM, so need a different chain to maximise performance. If the chain is too aggressive, it will require a lot of torque, pulling RPM down too far and away from maximum power RPM.

Good running saw! Hope she behaves when you seen her off to Summer Camp at Novice's instead of coming home with one of those stories... "that one time at band camp..."

Not quite. But they do share a bunch of parts. The Jonsered is a Partner 5000 in red. The open port version of the 5000 was the 500. With everyone under the Electrolux umbrella, Husky dug into the Partner 500 parts bin while developing their own chassis. They borrowed the crank, flywheel, clutch, top end, intake etc from the 500 to develop the 50. The 50 Special/51 use the Formula 500 top end, and the 540/543 use the same top end as the 55.
