That was interesting. I know the speed of sound increases with heat. I think that would make it difficult to get one to work for that particular application.

Joe, what's the ultimate recipe for an open port 55 (since the osed port cylinders are so hard to find) if one wants to use it strictly as a work saw?
@dynojoemods27649 ай бұрын
Gasket delete/set the squish. 100ex 120 transfer, 78 on the exhaust would make a dandy runner.

Such a cool build. I hope to see more of this saw in the future. Maybe methanol? Congrats on the horizontal hustle.

I honestly thought that it would cut faster with the pipe, but sometimes too much exhaust is just that, too much exhaust. Thanks for sharing, Joe!

Very good runner!!!! Congrats as well. Def a slick build 👍🏻

Nice work Joe, thanks for explaining how you tuned your saw for this build.

where do you purchase the Iron cylinder sleeves from?

Not what I anticipated! Thanks!! Curious, have you considered the weather correction factor for cuts? I know it's not as quantifiable, but gain can look like a loss in different weather conditions. Just thinking out loud; thanks for the vid!
@dynojoemods27649 ай бұрын
Not really for the cuts, as so many other variables pop up it can be maddening.... I like to just keep it simple and keep cuts just cuts lol.

Ever thoght about dynoing the same saw with different premix oils with different ratios? To see if there's much of any difference? M-Tronic and Stihl 500i would be nice to see. Ever run ethanol?

Come to think of it, each saw would have to adjust for each fuel. I can see how this might be labor intensive...

Super surprised it didn't blow the stock mod muffler away. I understand the chain had a few cuts on it but that would probably only equalize. Maybe just a little more carb tuning would have helped? I don't know, you would know better Joe. I guess it just comes down to you made one hell of a stock mod muffler to begin with.

Biggest issue is the porting, then the pipe. The porting is designed to work with the muffler outlet. Duration changes need to be made to suit a pipe, and then the pipe has to be designed to compliment those duration. Pipe worked ok, on a stock 60cc saw as it was "pulling " the power up. On this well tuned engine the pipe seemed to be holding the engine back. Almost fighting it. Also goes to show just because something "sounds" strong dosent mean that it really is the best setup. I have no doubts that pipe would work great on a stock type 55.

@@dynojoemods2764Wow! So you fine-tuned the durations on the HH for that muffler mod. That's pretty damn deep. When it came to the pipe on my husky for the HH, I just bought one off eBay. So that will just be added to the many reasons why I took 22nd and not second.
@dynojoemods27649 ай бұрын
@@tatepazaski5488 More I matched them muffler to the duration in the cylinder. The first round of porting favored the huge muffler outlet. The 2nd round of porting made better power slightly restricted

A good muffler mod is just that! Good stuff!

Play with it more or do a worksaw build and send it to a new home. Sounds wicked.
