those who were wondering. First stop for fuel I got just over 4 gallons. Second stop just over 6 gallons. plus I was a little under full when I left. I had about 12 or so miles on the tank. it is almost exactly 220 from my house to parker, so that might be another mile. I also drove around indio about 3 to 5 miles to get food. . At those speeds I still averaged between 21 and 22 mpg. As far as I know that is about the highest fuel mileage I have ever seen a bus get. At 65 I get a solid 22 plus, maybe even 23.

I like banning and Beaumont but the homeless have really ruined a lot out there. I think LA has a deal to ship them out there with a few dollars in their pocket and a small donation to the city. All those fast food restaurants are understaffed. So they cant tell me they cant find a job.

yea I had a second pointless but I am not sure if it was even that. might be the coil going bad causing resistance to the module. none of my other ones have had any problems only on this bus. Hey Mike, I ran into this once before on my 61 bug I was running a blue coil and it fried my distributor. I had to give a foot to a flamethrower coil to resolve my problem with the pick up.

yea that is a Bosch coil the stickers fell off. you can see where they were faintly. and it is designed for that module. all my other cars have the same setup. with no issues.

Mike, my experience has been its best to have a dedicated supply wire to a coil. I usually use #10 AWG if possible. I didn't realize an electronic module could be used on a 6v system. Sorry about your trip. Thank you for sharing, love your videos.

Thank You for the video Mike! Sorry your bus gave you problems 😕. I had a worn ignition switch that gave me similar problems - not sure if that's what is going on with yours? At least you had a "spare bus" to drive 👍😊

Yea not sure I replaced that a while back and no flickering on the dash lights. Need to measure resistance. and start there.

The hardest problems to chase are always electrical. One of my cars is a Vintage Speedster replica and ever since it got built and delivered to me straight from the shop over 18 years ago my alternator light is slightly dim but at night using all the lights I start getting that light flickering or lighting up altogether. I have chased grounds and haven’t been able to get rid of it completely. The battery doesn’t get drained; when you measure it the alternator is charging. God knows.
@benkrom27372 жыл бұрын
Hey, just a idea, a lot of cross wiring starts with wrong bulb or wrong socket that's replaced then someone starts switching wires 😳 gets crazy from there. 1st check for correct bulbs/sockets before physically changing wiring. Hopefully you just find a wrong p/n bulb 🧐

If you're still using 6 volt system and and using electronic ignition that's a recipe for disaster. Electronics works 3.5-5 volts and if only running 6v you're not leaving enough power for any surges 💁♂️

@@HERBYWALLACE3 Yea I dont have a trans jig so I have them done. KCR or Benco have the best prices. 3.44 with 89 all stock other than that. if you get a bigger motor just be nice to the trans or it wont last. All that reduction puts more stress on the gears. No hard shifting.
