Looking Great. Put in an upgraded circuit breaker box, one with a generator and solar panel provisions. Use several circuits. It is best to balance the loads. You will have a line 1 and a line 2. Try to not put more load on one than the other. Loads change between night time and daytime. In the kitchen you will want to run a toaster oven and microwave at the same time. Should be on 2 different circuits, Line 1 and Line 2. It takes a bit of planning. If you are scratching your head just add another circuit, lol.

We put a McCool in a camp trailer that doesn't go on the road anymore. It originally had a unit on the roof that went out. This was cheaper than having the other one fix. We did have one of the welds to brake where it was sweated together. Nephew was able to fix it and get it back to working. Mother inlaw used to go out there in the day time and sit and fall asleep. She said that it was peaceful. She's gone now but Mr Cool still works. Worth the money. A lot cheaper than a central air and heat.

The people that I bought my little place down in Florida put in mini splits. It is so nice to be able to regulate the temperature in each room
@darangemaster13 сағат бұрын
I did 4 individual mini splits for this reason. If one goes out it won’t affect the rest of the house. If I’m not in the room like my office and guest room I leave them off. My three bedroom house last month was 121 dollars for power! Biggest bill was 231. In the dead of the summer with my rv hooked up and the AC on in it ! With folks living in it. Very happy with the outcome
@heartslessons62434 сағат бұрын
You should take out the other chimney. It will make it easier when put in wiring, drywall. Plus you won't have the soot smell in the house. Oh believe, you can smell it right now, but after the place is all inclosed you will. We had to remove drywall to remove the half chimney to get the smell out.
@Esteban_Herrera55 минут бұрын
I think so too. It is also a pathway inside and out for temperature. Can't really insulate it. Not to sure where it's weight is located in the foundation. On the plus side it would stop a bullet.

rock wool rocks it absolutely fire proof it fits snuggly in the wall but will need a vapor/ moisture barrier Its also has a noise deadening effect
@jimharmon3404Сағат бұрын
Without a vapor barrier between the drywall and the insulation you will have moisture, mold and fungus problems in the walls. It is imperative that you put plastic up after the insulation. It is a big mistake to leave it as it is. Those added 2 by's just add more heat loss to the walls. Just install the 16" then cut to fit the rest of the space.

My daughter is going to finish her basement for me, eventually. I told her mini splits. She said no. After researching she now says yes. My neighbor in a 2 story home just paid 20k to replace her 2 heat pumps (each floor). We live in the south (further than you) too and don't use forced air gas furnaces. Think the worst weather I've ever had in 71 years was 5 degrees for like a week during covid. Her basement is under ground on 2 sides and full daylight windows on the other two. Should be sufficient. I sleep cold in winter anyway and just use a/c to remove humidity in the summer. Her house is pretty water tight.
