Good morning. When doing you’re top zipper wait to do the zipper tab on the back end. Right before you are to sew sides together, cut top zipper to the length you want, then add the tab.

I’m with you about sewing for others! I usually reply “You won’t want to pay what it’s worth so no.” 😂 People have this ridiculous idea that sewing is cheaper than buying from a store so just aren’t willing to pay for custom-made bags or clothes or quilts. Love your FridaySews videos - you are so funny. It really is like hanging out with a friend who won’t let me speak 😂💞

Good morning from Australia. When I would go the op/thrift stores I looked for bag bits ‘n’ pieces. I often found handbags that I could reuse the hardware from. It really cut down on the cost. Great vlog & very entertaining today! God bless 🌹

Hi Stephanie! Can't wait to see your next zippy bag. The colors look so nice! I agree! I love making things for Me! I'm retired and I love sewing for ME! That's why I do it!😂😂😂😂😂😂 Yes! My dressform helps me out so much too! I was looking at my sewing book and I looked at sewing under arms. If they are too low leaving a gap just raise it up (the pattern) so I'm going to try that. Maybe an inch higher to start. Thanks for another great video. I'm working on McCalls 8104 for the 3rd time.

Emmeline bags have lots of hardware and so does Sewsweetness. Both have bag patterns and videos. The 24 bag patterns for $25 is an annual thing. I purchased both last year and this years package. Thanks for sharing your makes.

I do sell my jewelry and the people I meet always say "I love that!! Can you make it in this color, with different beads or maybe a different style" lol! Fun times...lol!

With using vinyl strapping, I don’t think you need to fold over like with a fabric strap. You so t need to hide the end as it will not ravel like fabric. I love the bit larger size! Nice job😊

NB Just found the pattern and the cheapest postage to me is £18 and will take 3 weeks to get to me 😢😢😢. All the other postal options, well.. I could buy various bags for that 😂. Back to the drawing board and I will admire yours from afar ❤

I agree 💯! I sew for me, and I don’t want to turn my fun into work. I don’t want to have to deal with difficult customers, or have them try to devalue my work for a discount. Then I wouldn’t have time to make the things I want for myself.

I am with you about people asking me to sew things for them. I'm afraid I come off abrupt and harsh,, so I've started to say, "Oh, I have such long list of projects, I wouldn't be able to add something else." 😊 Hopefully, they will forget and I'll come off nicer, but, honestly, it was presumptuous of them to ask. -Deborah

I buy bags at yard sales and thrift shops and cut the hardware off. I live in Georgia and the deer will eat all my flowers and we make cage from chicken wire and put it around my flowers....I would never see a flower bloom if not for the cages. Love the zipper bag.

I always come for your Friday Sews. Love chatting with you, even if you do the chatting. You're so personable, and REAL. You make mistakes like the rest of us, and it makes me not so concerned that everything doesn't always go to plan the first time out. Hi Debra, yes!!! I bought a Juki TL 18QVP and it sews through all those layers like a champ!! So happy with it. Makes me want to make more and more bags!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I think I have it figured out. It’s the large piece of the main fabric and you cut the smaller pieces out of it. The problem I have with that thought, is all the contrasting colors would not work with that. In the future, I’m only cutting the “sub cuts” and if they need interfacing or stabilizer, I’ll add it. I hope that helps. Maybe I’ll write to them to let them know it’s confusing. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I never say, " I made it" either ! Totally agree, it's not worth risking having that conversation. Love your bags! I usually get my hardware from Emmaline Bags. They are in Canada but their prices are good and shipping reasonable. I've made a lot of bags from Sew Sweetness, Swoon bags and my latest and favorite is from Lavender and Twine. Her instructions are fabulous.
