The small cargo hold could become useful when we have the ability to rearm ships in EVA. The Mk II could run ballistic weapons for quite a while with 2 SCU of ammo. It's also good for bringing loot crates to bunkers and FPS sites.

I'm generally not interested in single-seater fighters, but seeing the F7A2 was a moment of wow for me. I really hoped that CIG will release a civilian F7C2, and decided that if that ever happened I'd be pledging for one. 2 years later, not only was a F7C2 actually released, we even got to upgrade it to an actual, bona fied F7A2. A citizen's dream comes true.

As nice as the mk2 is, it does set a worrying precedent. Power creep and obsoleting old ships before game is even released does raise the question of what other ships will get the same treatment.

I have both but,I have the ghost and want to see what they do with stealth numbers for it,before I let it go,hoping they make it just like all good stealth ships like the Eclipse and you won't know it's there until it's to late.

@@DeepRunner1-y1l they are also working on super-, ghost- and tracker hornet mk2's, it will be interesting to see what they do with them and the mk1's since they got removed from both the pledge- and ingame stores. I really hope they will keep the old ones up-to-date feature wise. I hope the MK2 ghost hornet looks even sleeker and stealthier rather than being mostly a paintjob and loadout swap.

The hornet serious was long overdue for a refresh and I'd say they almost nailed it since it still lacks some gold standard features but is overall a great ship, especially with the F7A MK2 military hornet upgrade added, granted that 2SCU storage box adds a lot of utility for 3.24 especially when looting during bunker missions or even later down the line with rearming ballistic weapons manually. It's noteworthy that the hornets recieved several mobility nerfs on the 3.24 ptu though but nothing too major either. It will be interesting to see how the mk2 super-, ghost- and tracker hornets turn out.

Love my hornets. I've got an F7A mk2, F7C mk2, F7C-S mk1 all currently in my hangar and a regular F7C mk1 in my buybacks for if they ever decide to give the cargo box the same functionality as on the mk2. I think being able to use the cargo box on the F7C mk2 to physically put things in is really neat, even if it doesn't have an awful lot of utility at the moment. I mostly use it to store gear from mercenary contracts or the loot caves and outposts. It is a shame too that unlike the ball turret you cannot take the F7A mk2 nose turret and place it on the nose of the F7C mk2. I think that combination; the cargo box with two S3s on the nose, would be my ideal loadout for the F7C mk2. Even then, nothing beats my F7A mk2 for combat moneymaking especially being able to chain together group VHRTs and take them down with relative ease.

I think what really sells this ship are it's looks. It is very, very pretty, it takes the original design and enhances it, comparable to the way the BSG reboot handles both the franchise and the iconic Viper. This clearly was intended by CIG, there is a lot of the MKII reboot's design influence to be found in the new Hornet, and a lot of the original Viper in the MkI.

Got a chance to fly this ship during the Freefly loan period. I like the way it flies, but the stock weapon loadout was found a bit lacking.

I’ve posted in Spectrum about this, but I’d really like them to address if the F7C-M will allow the copilot to simultaneously control both the nose and top turret (brining it up to functionality modernity/parity with the Reliant starter ship) when both are equipped, or even only the nose mount if the top mount isn’t used. This is a detail, sure, but I think critical to the -M for flexibility and overall quality. It will likely be over 220USD, so something as simple as the copilot’s basic function options reflecting thought is pretty critical imo. If you’ve a moment to drop a bump or vote, I’d appreciate any help in ask the Devs, since they’ve just started the -M implementation.

I only disagree with one point - that MRT level combat contracts are the "sweet spot" for the Hornet MK-II. You can do MRTs with a Mustang after a bit of practice. I would definitely say the increased firepower makes HRTs the sweet spot. In fact I regularly use mine for VHRTs. The only issue with VHRTs is they are strong opponents that get a few shots on you most of the time, and after a few VHRTs you will be damaged enough to force a retreat for repairs. Even ERTs are possible if you have the more powerful, upgraded F7A military variant. They may take some time but they are do-able in the hands of a capable pilot. Speaking of the F7A, I would be curious to see how your review of one would differ from the F7C civilian version.

Im waiting for a prettier variant, this is a bit of a plain jane, to vanilla and couldn't be assed to upgrade to the cheesy A, i just don't do nonsense for fighters, throwaway ships, didn't like the F8 though, and i doubt i'll bother with SQ42, but would like a F7MKII variant

What was odd to me is that they even removed it from the ingame shops. Considering they still have to balance and keep the mk1's up to date since the ship still exists for existing owners that didn't upgrade to the mk2 or bought it during the stupid "sunset" sale anyway they might as well keep selling it as a cheaper entry level hornet at ingame ship dealers.

@APolishedTurd I didn't even play, since I'm waiting for more content to make the game worth. That does not change the fact that it's behind paywall, as well as new players still won't have access. The issue is the game having balance and not a one-ship-to-rule-them-all. Now cig is trying to mitigate this unbalanced position by nerfing the weapon capacitors and turn rates, but we all know that's not the issue.

@@matuto1986 It wasn’t even the dominant ship except for the patch in which you could just earn it. The F7A WAS behind a paywall you can’t even buy it now and it’s not the best fighter anymore. The big reason it was the best fighter for even a slight time was because of a bug in its code that let it pull like 32Gs in straight forward thrust letting it disengage from any fight with any fighter and reengage at will. That’s now been fixed and was fixed when MM came in. Every variant of the F7 gets dunked on by the buccaneer and can be beaten by other ships. It currently cannot even be bought and the last time it was available wasn’t for purchase it was earned through an in game event which by definition is not a paywall. There’s now more in the game through the event then were purchased and the people that had previously purchased it when it was available for a limited time made a huge stink about it. It sounds like you haven’t played in a very very long time and are speaking on the state of things the last time you played which are not accurate to the current version of the game.

@@APolishedTurd Wow, such an accidental bug! Giving a huge boost to the exact ship during the period it was being sold? It must be just a coincidence, just like it happened to the Fury when it was launched! I understand the interceptor class is faster and, therefore, can choose to engage/disengage the combats. That does not change the fact that 80% of Arena Commander players were using the F7 for combat. And this argument that it WAS behind a paywall, but no longer. It would be an good argument if you were going to say it can be bought with in game currency. It's NOT a good argument to claim it's not P2WIN because it's no longer for sale. Also, I recently played in 3.24 (naturally, not for long as missions are still bugged). It's still OP as hell. Don't get me wrong, I don't want them to nerf if to the ground. I want CIT to BALANCE the ships. If you have an agile single seater with 2 size 4's, 4 size 3's, the game is broken. There's no point in multicrew and no point in using other ships. Even the F8 and Inferno were balanced, as they have high DPS but are larger targets and are not that agile. But the Hornet wants to be the exception, where you have only pros and no cons (so they nerf it the wrong way).

The nerfs its happening to this fighter it's not justified since the capacitor its so low , they should nerf the F8C thats a tank and have a big capacitor and all the guns he has and the hit points and shields ! even one being a light and the other a medium fighter ! And the F7C should have at least 3 MFD's and the turret cant have more then 2 size 2 and not 3 ! and you cant change anymore the turret from F7A to the C 😢

You can indeed put the F7A ball turret on the F7C, you just can't do it in the fleet manager app. You must take it off your F7A manually and place it on the F7C with your tractor beam.
