Love your stories. I was wondering if you would be posting new stuff to Spotify soon. I listen to your stories as I fall asleep.

Thank you, Cassie! I likely will drip-feed a few soon yes. The reason for creating an upload break is to bring MOST traffic here, if possible. It's not about money (far from it), however, I still lose around £200 a month in revenue from Spotify traffic, etc, and my Patrons understand why this is crucial, especially just now. I know all exposure is valuable, though, so I will upload to podcast platforms soon! Thank you for listening Cassie, whichever way you do. S x

have you ever seen the show Outlander? Its historical fiction and incorporates the Fraser clan and Jacobites in the story line.
@SnoozewithSam2 жыл бұрын
@@sarahsherman4514 It's not actually a very big show in the UK, but yes I have seen a few moments here and there of it! Well, I say not a big show - half the people I know have been in it as actors, extras, or otherwise haha, but it's not on the screens all-too-often. That said, I shall be basing a story on its concepts soon, I feel! S x

I watch anything thats historical fiction like Peaky Blinders, Last Kingdom, Vikings so anytime you make anything with history i get happy but fall asleep 5 minutes in so dont even hear it 😄. Just love history from England, Ireland, Scotland , i always wanted to go there. Its fun hearing/having a conversation with someone from there. Im from Boston Massachusetts US area, our accents arent soothing 😆, watch the movie Departed, youll hear why.

It will take more than one listening to even begin to take in this history. I've known of the Jacobites as "influencers" but I never really understood their broader vision or what their purpose represented for national identity. Fascinating. And you birthday is in just a few days so I wish you a very happy one and many, many more.

I am ashamed to say that the majority of my knowledge of scottish history comes from the media. Of course there's "Braveheart" for my knowledge of William Wallace and "Reign" (a US TV show) for my knowledge of Mary Queen of Scotts, Outlander for misc. Scottish history (including the Jacobites), and more recently I rented and watched Rob Roy (and loved it). I am interested in your opinions of Scottish history in popular (or less popular) media. Do you have any recommendations of surprisingly accurate movies/shows/books? Or even some that are very INACCURATE depictions to be aware of. I know that most media is for entertainment purposes, so creative licences are taken. But as a Scottsman, and one who seems to know his nations history well, i would be interested in knowing your opinion. Though i do understand that this topic wouldnt make for the best "sleep story" 😅
@SnoozewithSam Жыл бұрын
The reality, as you've mentioned, is that nearly all media productions take an artistic approach. There was a film made a few years ago - Outlaw King. It wasn't the most accurate, but I found it one of the most stirring of the Scottish themes productions to date. S x
