This vedio was very informative in all spects for any design student. The most important and challenging part is how we make our portfolio because it's reflects our first impression, skills , works etc....How can a small mistake like spelling error destruct our chance. And i had a question regarding it, how can we create our portfolio more attractive as well as informative and also how to know our design USP??

after watching this video I'm definitely going to work on my portfolio so these are the point which i learnt from this video: 1. Portofolio is something that shows ur skills, creativity, knowledge, research techniques, understading regarding branding, marketing, designs and so on. 2. it is something that is going to represent me in the industry so i should always choose a suitable fonts, images that make a portfolio look aesthically pleasant and colour that reflect our sense of selection. 3. it should be interesting and creative in such a way that who so ever is going to see, that person can not take their eyes off from that portfolio. 4. we should avoid some silly mistakes that generally we do so always re-check and redefine the work. 5. take inspiration from all your works and select a proper graphics, fonts and always put each and every thing in the process.

Portfolio is your self reflection. It talks to people on behalf of you. It is a visual document which compiles your best work only, number doesn't matter, people seeks for quality not quantity. It looks like fashion magazine with texts and shows your skills, knowledge and design aesthetics. It is also important to avoid making silly mistakes like spelling errors in resume and should keep an eye on details while making portfolio because it tells about your passion, skills and shows how much you care about details and everything.

This video is all about how to create and maintain your fashion portfolio. Following are the list of things which I learned from this video:- 1. Portfolio should look like magazine which will have your body of work that means your skills are displayed in the portfolio, your knowledge about the subject and design aesthetics. 2. All the learnings from the internship should be put in a document that will give more value to the portfolio 3. understanding the brief of your subject is most important thing to make yourself clear about your points 4. again go through from your portfolio or resume and check your spelling errors, fonts should be not that much fancy, the basic and silly mistakes 5. show yourself, skills, knowledge, taste and your words through your work 6. only keep and filter your best work in portfolio 7. be ready to give explanation about anything from your portfolio Anjali Gupta

What I have learnt from this video- Putting together your best works from any internship can best for your portfolio Be careful with templates, fonts and mainly the flat drawings. Also make sure to not make spelling mistakes. The work should be engaging and our thoughts, skills, aesthetics should be displayed properly. Make sure to filter out the irrelevant work and be focused on what needs to be shown and what the whole thing is about.

What is portfolio? A creative reflection of us, thought process, skills and strategic response to a problem. What to include in a portfolio? More visuals than texts Show all your skills (eg. softwares) What to be considered? - Resume layouts .Template and fonts .Spelling mistakes - Technical drawings . Forgetting to draw armholes in tops . Leaving out the centre front of trousers What professionals love to see in portfolio? - A good aesthetic of that you understood the theme for collection which should show throughout the portfolio - Showcase the best of your works(be it less but should be worth showing) - Use story telling skills - Be very clear of every single thing drawn or written in your portfolio so that you are ready to answer every Q that interviewers ask

It is not just a visual representation of our work but also who we are. 2. We should reflect our understanding of the brief, market research, skills in our portfolio, and also consider that who is going to evaluate the portfolio. 4. we must avoid silly mistake and be more precise about our protfolio. 5. I learned a lot from this video, so I'll simply list some of them here: A portfolio is a visual representation of not only our work but also who we are and our abilities. It should resemble a fashion magazine, with visuals accompanied by text. In our portfolio, we should reflect our understanding of the brief, brand philosophy, market research, skills, and a lot more. We must also consider who will be evaluating the portfolio. It should be interesting enough that the person who sees it does not become bored with it. Because our resume reflects our aesthetics, we must avoid making careless errors and be more precise. Finally, we must not include anything that is unrelated to our project. ~ Anshu

A lot of things about portfolios/resume are more clear now, for ex, that they reflect our interests, nature and aesthetics. It can depict that we are meticulous or careless. we should also consider who is going to examine our work, so that we can engage that person well. It should have more visuals and should be supported by text, and all the spelling error and small details should be keptr in mind.

This video provides such a great insight about making a relevant portfolio and clarifies all the confusions that i had regarding creating my portfolio as a fashion design student ! the points that i learned from this video are: 1. Once portfolio must be the creative reflection of the designer, his thoughts ,skills ,aesthetics and his ability to tactically resolve issues! 2. One should reflect our understanding of the brief, brand philosophy, market research, skills in his portfolio. 3. The portfolio must be engaging throughout ,to the evaluator and should not lose its strong representation of aesthetics and sense of precision and relevance to the theme. 4. The portfolio should clearly envision the theme one is catering to along with the design understanding of the designer and should not include anything irrelevant to the project .

After watching the video I understand that portfolio is not just compilation of your work or project, there is lot to it. Portfolio is a reflection of you as a designer. Hence, portfolio communications on behalf of you. It should have the power to communicate your abilities, skills and aesthetic. Thank you, that's very insightful! I got to learn how important a role layout plays in making an engaging resume and portfolio and how important it is to be careful in order to avoid spelling errors which doesn't reflect well on us (definitely keeping it mind and triple checking things from now on!). Again, as students, who are going to embark on a career in the fashion industry, it's important know the relevance of what is thaught to us and what will be required from us in the industry. Also, I had a question, since, we are still in the process of learning and exploring new things, how can we identify our usp and how do we show our aesthetic in the portfolio?
@Decodingfashion_
@Decodingfashion_ 2 жыл бұрын
We keep exploring ourselves on a daily basis and the evolution is constant. The best way is to identify through the path of IKIGAI because you are going to shape you entire career based on the decision of the USP you are going to build on. so please do identify which domain your passions lies, what the world needs and the way they can benefit , will this passion domain pay you and definitely you have to be good at ... or at-least way better than anybody you know ( and you are going to commit to be better than others everyday). Once you have figured this, it should help you. Let me know what you figured out. Happy New year.
