You have no idea how happy you made me today. I love this woman so much. I'm always in awe of her, I know we are from two different worlds, I'm a black man from Africa but I feel so connected to her, reading her story makes me want to do better for myself and invent myself.

As a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology ( class of 92 ) in NYC I thoroughly enjoyed this. Well done, Diana was like a saint to us fashion students then and now. There are very few that can compare to her if any at all.

The keyword here is passion and thank you for reminding us what passion is all about. Most people I know are not successful professionally, but they have passion - be it passion for family life, passion for travelling, passion for being with friends and passion for love and this is what motivates them. It’s a beautiful world. Beautiful presentation!

Diana Vreeland is without a doubt one of the greatest fashion editors of all time! She reigned until the advent of the seventies when the extreme content of Vogue suddenly seemed out of place in the lives of women during that time. I was happy to see her involvement in bringing a new life to the costume dept. of the Met.

I was young during her Vogue years and remember many of the pictures you highlighted, Art in every sense of the word. I would love to revisit every issue! This episode has made me want to read her bio and see that film ASAP, hopefully when I can get into a library again I will have luck finding both. You also get the sense you regard her highly and it made for an excellent episode, thanks! Hope you are staying safe and enjoying a wonderful Holiday Season!👏👍
@Fashionand4 жыл бұрын
I love her autobiography - it’s so flamboyant and theatrical! She was a real character - something you don’t get in fashion much these days - everyone takes it so seriously! Even her time at The Met changed the way people saw fashion in the museum (that’s my industry) she may not have been an academic but she injected fun, glamour and intrigue into the field! It’s such a shame Anna Wintour has basically bulldozed away Vreeland’s legacy at The Met... I still can’t believe they renamed it “The Anna Wintour Costume Centre”... such a shame! Anyway, thank you as always for your kind workday and I hope you enjoy rediscovering Vogue and Vreeland when the libraries reopen! Happy holidays and a prosperous new year!
