It's amazing how classic his designs are. Most of this stuff looks just as fashionable today as it did then. That is a very rare accomplishment.

Excellent! Love the longer episode and it was so interesting that the time just flew. The 70s were the best era ever, best fashion, best music, best dancing etc., so glad I experienced it first hand. Halston was the 70s! Thanks for the trip down memory lane Scott and your hard work putting this together. Wish I still had some of my ready-to-wear Halston pieces. Please do more extended episodes!🌻

Thank you Jean! I’m obsessed with the 70s at the moment! The fashion, the music and the freedom! I intend to do more extended episodes - they’re hard work but fun!! Hope you’re well! X

Very informative. I can see some of his influences in today’s fashion with the halter neck cut out dresses and two piece knit set

I cannot believe there are not thousands of likes on this! If that sensationalized Netflix series had spent more time on the topics you discuss and less on his sex life and drugs (because who cares?) it could have been something worth watching. 🙁 So well done and such a fitting tribute to Halston, thank you! 😎👍❤️

Thank you so much! That’s the power of Netflix unfortunately! You should watch part one of my interview with Halston Model and muse Chris Royer. Its also available on my channel. I’m working on part two now and hoping to release soon. Let me know what your think! ❤️

Unfortunately, so true. I would love to have seen more of his creative process.

I agree wish they toned down the sex and drugs. I’m sure he would not want to be remembered for that but instead his creations.

Bravo, you've done so much excellent research. I am amazed that you found out that Halston used to call me "Chrissy." I loved your Sister Sledge music I know Nile Rodgers and it was perfect for your Halston video. Great job, keep it going!

After watching for the 300times the Netflix documentary about Halston.I am in the need ,once again, to learn even more about Halston. Love it. Great episode. Wondering, Do you know if Gia Carangi ever model for Halston ?
@Fashionand2 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed! I’m not sure if Gia Carangi modelled for Halston but I could find out. I have 2 more episodes on Halston - I interviewed Chris Royer, his fit model and muse - both episodes are available to watch on my channel.

So far, I’m at the 32 minute mark and this is an amazing a compilation of history and imagery. So far I can see where his head would have been lost. He has almost everything and probably all the cocaine he could ever want. But to see him fall from such a high place really makes me sad. If he had kept his shit together, pardon my French. I believe he could’ve still been with us, or at least had produced many more memorable designs.

None of the attempts to make his style of clothes seems to have been really good. I would be a fan of his but he went down too far and it was not the case with the other successful designers at that time. They went ahead and designed till old age. His Olympic Tower office still is the best looking office I have ever seen and it eclipsed all 7th Avenue showrooms and European offices as well. His town house is among the top best of New York residences especially today. Still it all got cursed by his downfall. I don't feel his JCPenny move was a bad one- more an issue of the times and the design environment then. I mean Armani did Armani Express albeit at a later time and there may be others that I can't recall. His full career was rather long so he did have a long experience and I am happy for that. In the end though he is not a positive role model to me. He seems cursed and I think the cigarette smoking didn't help much. Disco at the same time was dismissed rapidly and the real reasons why shows how "fashion is fickle". His models all disappeared except for Pat Cleveland and Alva Chinn who went on to model runway in Europe well into the late 90's.
