I saw this crime reported and the thing that struck me most was the almost incidental way that the murder was regarded. That someone can be killed in such an absolutely horrific way and it barely raises an eyebrow is an indictment of how far society has fallen. A method involving fire and "life ending" has been used in South Africa for sometime. I believe it's called "necklacing". In the USA, it happened on more than one instance of convenience store robberies, where the store clerk was bound up, and then set alight (all caught on CCTV camera) There were some commonalities in the perpetrators of the acts....

Arson seems to happen just about every other night in the city near me in the US. Nearly always boarded up empty homes. Sometimes it is squatters setting fires to keep warm but it also happens in warm weather, so often is just vandalism. City has to clear out the rubble and leaves an empty lot. Have heard of people trying to set fire to others but usually results in survivable injury to one extent or another. The immigrant in New York had been expelled from the country once and got back in at an unknown time, but apparently under the Biden loose border control. He seems to feel no shame for these sorts of atrocities he facilitated.
