Serious speed and beautiful rolling stock!!! That's a good example of what can be done with high speed rail in the States, a country built by the railways. Very good filming, impressive! Cheers from Athens, Greece!

I seem to remember reading that it was usual operating practice for electrics in icy weather to run with just the trailing pantograph up. An old Pennsy GG1 hogger was quoted in the article as saying he would often run with the forward pant up just to knock the ice off the wires so the back one could make better contact. The problem was the icicles that came crashing onto his windshield!

TopJoshGames that’s what I wonder - the traditional Amtrak can really move even though it’s the Acela that’s supposed to be built for speed.
@matthewhanna91154 жыл бұрын
The problem is when a train goes 150+ the stations are supposed to be built with 4 tracks instead there are 2. This causes trains to lower speeds due to trains ahead

haminco hamicno² handicapped has nothing to do with what I said. The USA was once a train filled place but we were forced out of trains into cars for war parts and then interstates started being built and train travel decreased. The point is some countries like Brazil doesn’t have trains at all so we’re getting there
