@@rixxroxxk1620oh wow! What a time to see railroad! I just barely remember the e60’s lol…. As for the MARC AEM-7’s four of them should be there from when I saw in April but if it’s changed that’s surprising because, I think they just park them in different places.

@AcelaRailfanning3 ай бұрын
Yeah it is! From what I hear there’s also a shortage of them in service. That is why some trains on the keystone corridor have a double ended ACS-64 consist.

speed limit on that section of tracks is actually 135 not 150MPH 150 is WAY too fast for that Baltimore-DC section, but on the bright side you picked some nice stations to catch trains at, i hope to see more of your videos like this in th future

You know in Europe it's forbidden for high speed trains to pass a station at high speed! For these kind of measures, the high speed trains slows down or they can pass at high speed when the station has 4 lane tracks when there is only 2 platforms station with a barrier wall.
@AcelaRailfanning3 ай бұрын
That would explain a lot from the videos I see at train stations over there! Here on the northeast corridor in some places where it is 4 tracks the tracks closer to the platform have a lower speed limit than the middle tracks… but there are a good amount of stations that are maybe 2 tracks along the northeast corridor or 3 tracks where trains bypass stations at high speeds.
@91JRH3 ай бұрын
@@AcelaRailfanning Yes and also if I speak now specifically about Germany is that high speed lines use the LZB safety system whereby high speed trains with the AFB function will slow down automatically by itself. The driver doesn't need to break the train manually by him or herself. To go back to the Northeast Corridor, I play Train Sim World 4 on the Playstation 5 and I also have the Northeast Corridor as DLC route betweeb Boston and Providence. So, when I am driving the trains, I pass the stations at 125kps.

How long of a stretch is down to a 3 track main?
@AcelaRailfanning3 ай бұрын
Well it is 3 tracks on certain portions of the corridor! A portion in Delaware, a portion in northern Maryland around Elkton and Aberdeen Maryland, and then there’s the portion from Baltimore- Landover Maryland which is just north of Washington D.C which is all a 3 track main line. There is an extra track at Halethorpe MARC station which is considered track A but it only runs next to the 3 track main line between Halethorpe and West Baltimore MARC stations.
