I bought a pack of fat quarters today from an overstock store...now I know why they were there! I ended up having to cut my squares at 8" instead of 9, but it looks like I'll have some leftover strips to play with! Karen, love this idea! Laying out the blocks IS a time-chew for me, too. I lay them out the way i think i like them, then walk away and do whatever. An hour later, i allow myself one more switch-around, then commit to sewing. This works for me, but i also like the time limit method you suggested. Thank you!

I never thought sewing was something for me. My teacher in the past....i have to forgive her bad words over me. But í took my work to grandma and she restoured my work. It is helpful to learn about choosing a taupe or neutral border, especially when using fat quarters from older collections, or from your stash. Your quilt looked wonderful with the the taupe and striped binding, and really showcased how it frames the quilt (as you said). Every time I watch I pick up on something else. Thank you!

Love this! Seems I've been getting a little complicated lately with some of my quilting efforts. I think I'm gonna give this one a try and air out my poor brain!
