The biggest negative about this boat is the price, here in Australia it would cost over $42,000, not too many people will or can pay that much.

Problem is it only has two foils and so is far less stable than a cat for 4 foils. I have experienced sailing on two foils. If you are sailing in areas with consistent shifting winds, trying to stay on just two foils is very difficult.

Crucial information required... HOW MUCH? You can drip feed into desire, but at some stage wallets have to be opened. That means financial decisions have to be made. In the world we live in those younger than me now don’t look to ownership, but to pay and play. To be exceptionally current... Will this be another Norton Motorcycles? Hugely desirable, well managed? Financial death knell. Great to tease, but when does the average person in the street/sailing club transition to foiling????

Hello Phil, we are doing all efforts in the world to lower production cost while keeping the same building quality. We are working hard for small salary, also in sales and all other departments, to make iFLY a reality. Till today we have delivered 40 boats worldwide and we aim to double this in 2020. Hopefully we will be able one day to offer a budget version of the boat, which was actually planned from day1. However, this is extremely difficult to achieve, as components are very precious. We hope for You understanding, as compared with automotive or aviation industry, we have to work with minimum amount of units and with minimum margin.

@@democracynowornever Wow 33,000 US dollars or more. Yep few will buy it. I can buy a bran new Hobie 16 for $11,000 (9,805 euros), race ready. I do feel for ifly as its hard to keep costs low at the same time making enough to pay employees and keep the company afloat. I remember back in the late 70's and early 80's a lot of new catamaran designs came out after Hobie Cat products its first Hobie 16. Today all those manufactures are gone, and only Hobie Cat and Nacra remain, with a few other new manufactures. The pandemic will prove who has staying power.

I love sailing but the new foiling designs are crazy expensive. I imagine if you joined a club and the club owned one ot would be affordable but then you are sharing time might not be available when you want it. There's a handful of shops that charter the RS Aero and similar setups but that's a $10,000 vs this $33,000
