02:16 this is so funny. When I help friends or family members clean/reorganize their space, I tend to remind them/ _warn them_ that the "pile" may overwhelm you momentarily. My mom and MIL both taught me the only way to properly, fully clean a space, is by making a gigantic mess first, as so. But the payoff is so worth it, no worries. Great video!!

Dollar Tree for the win! Katherine, I think a lot of reason why these items pile up and people's houses that they don't know how to get rid of them. You can't pour them down the sink. You can't dump them out on the ground. You can't put them in the garbage so they go into a landfill and many recycling centers do not have appropriate places for household cleaning products. It's quite a dilemma to recycle these things responsibly. That's why it's a good thing to get organized and then only buy what you need at the time that you need it.

Advice for you my friend, she has a long lifetime of stuff to go through. These things are important to her or were at one point. Take it slow, share memories, ask her to share stories about items, have fun with it, make the downsizing a fun new memory of it's own.

Everything I kept was put in a labeled folder, then file cabinet. I'm 62 and had a large health issue. All I could think of was, how are my adult kids going to find anything if I passed. It's been2 years, but nothing goes in a pile anymore. Next I redid my pantry, under the cabinets, dressers and closets. I feel so much more relaxed. Thanks all to you! YOU ARE ENOUGH! ❤

LOVE the sentimental family sign and photo! What a wonderful makeover, Kathryn! Tip: Shorter people (my 5'4" mom) cannot reach the over-washer shelves and it activates old low back injuries. For your dad, though, this seemed perfect. I also much prefer the easy clean element of plastic/rubber containers. Tip for country folks: If your wash house is external & has open eaves, keep your dryer sheets in a plastic/rubber container/mason jar or move them inside & bring individual sheets to dryer as needed (re pests & leaking roofs). Great video, Kathryn! Bright blessings.
