Definitely was surprised by this review back then. I totally thought this was suuuch a step up from the previous F&F movies. Hell, generally, F5 is considered the best in the series. Them criticizing the franchise for moving away from the focus on the cars; that's the reason the movies gained the success that they got. Focusing on the heist and the characters was a step in the right direction. Dunno what they were expecting.

I love these guys but I will forever disagree with them over their opinions of this movie.

Movie turns 10 today! Still one of the franchise's best installments First movie to make $200 million domestically Sure it's more gun fights and chases than actual racing and gets into absurd physics but still expands everything and no longer a sub culture This was also the beginning of expanding cinematic universes next to Marvel My first introduction to Elsa Pataki joining the series and this was the first time Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson met on set Next to the badass action scenes the human interaction moments are just as well done I like how this family are pretty much social margins on run from the law and have to buy their freedom Really happy the franchise has hit new heights and continues to be entertaining Better plot, slick cars, cooler new characters, exotic locales Amazingly the movie also tackles colonialism, exploitation of people, and wielding of nationalistic power

Yea the lack of street racing disappointed the hell out of me when I saw it in theatres in April 2011...when they got to that part where it seemed like they were going to Race i was thinking the same thing the spill crew was thinking like Bout Fuckin Time and when they pulled that No Country For Old Men shit and skipped the whole damn race i was seriously thinking about walking out..then that shit with the police cars made me even angrier...this movie was just a Matinee for me..the first movie remains my favorite with the second one right behind it(the second one is really underappreciated imo),then 4,6,3,7,8,5 and 9..I'm glad they're ending it though..man just like Korey said if i went back in time to 2001 and showed my younger self what this series would become No Way I'd believe it..I'd believe time travel is possible first ...that Paul Walker joke about him hitting his head on the dashboard is a tough one...Paul may not have been the greatest actor but I've always liked or loved him in everything ive seen him in...i hope u resting peacefully bruh

Revisiting old Spill reviews and wow these guys were not the audience for this expecting another street racing film and not appreciating the great summer action film franchise this was turning into.
