It's called "GreedFlation", during the pandemic when supply chain was actually backed up and it did cost a little more for shipping corporations decided to use that as an excuse to raise their prices on everything, now that supply chain has eased up allot, these corporations decided to keep the price surge, it's literally all greed.
@TheOneManWhoBeatYou8 ай бұрын
Ah yes, the classic "Hurr durr corporations bad! Hurr durr!" response. You clearly don't know anything about the global economy. Yes, we are still suffering from the pandemic inflation and then the war in Ukraine made it worse as that massively effected their wheat production (they produce 30% of the worlds wheat), which goes into a lot of food, and it continues to effect prices. Add on the increase in fuel prices as well that increases the cost of shipping and that at least partially helps explain things. So no, it's as simple as saying it's "greed" by the big, bad, evil corporations...

This feels more like a big city/lazy consumer problem. I live just outside king county in washington state in a relatively populated city. The cost of fat food HAS gone up but its still significantly cheaper than a sit down restaurant as their prices have gone way up too. Additionally, I think the real issue is that too many people are comfortable ordering food trough door dash and other services so they ultimately pay even more for their meals. Finally, a word to the wise, if you aren't using fast food apps you're throwing money away. Any McDonald's meal you buy is automatically 20% off with the app, plus you earn points towards free food and some food earns you double points, like if you buy breakfast items. In the end, fast food is still WAY cheaper than any other retaurant, but obviously more expensive than just making your own damn food at home.

Bro seriously fast-food prices are getting stupid. I recall going to McDonald's 24 years ago and getting a Big Mac combo meal for $3.67. It's now in the neighborhood of $13.87. What's even more absurd is if you want to utilize a food delivery service such as Uber Eats or Door Dash you will be paying close to $30 and on top of that, food delivery companies expect you to provide a tip for the driver. At that point I mind as well get in my car and go get the damn thing myself. Tipping is not possible when prices are already ridiculously high. Delivery companies need to consider that before they try and make customers feel like they have to provide a tip or risk poor service.
