Great collection of cars! I prefer the Rover / MG content so can’t wait to see more of the MGF. Out of interest how do you maintain the battery health? Ive got a few cars tucked away and I don’t know what’s best to do, leave them connected and rotate a trickle charger on them or disconnect the battery so there’s no drain there 🤷🏻♂️🤔 what do you do? I seem to be going through batteries like there’s no tomorrow! 🙈
@cornishcarcollectors8 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment, I’m glad you like my current collection of cars… there’s too many right now. 😂 As for batteries, I disconnect them with the exception of the car I have in my garage as that is on a trickle charger. Batteries are a constant headache when you have several cars, but it’s worth it! Thanks for watching.

Wow I was made up listening to your updated video.. I have seven Vehicles in my collection.. In age 2014 Transit high top van I've owned it around 6 years, I was shocked when I had it serviced with starter motor wiper blades two front tyres Oh yes it needed welding to pass and has a stash of advisories. £1460. My 2013 Vauxhall Cascada 2.0 convertible bought mega cheap for a reason I think,(slight body damage)front wing rear quarter and bonnet has tons peppered chips on it as does the windscreen. cost so far valet £40 rear number plate light bulbs £22 oh and £25 for logbook purchase. And £35 for diesel £122 purchase price £1900.(Undecided what to do with it as yet)daily car.. 2007 Astra twin top convertible 1.9 CDTI full service history £1300 paid Bought it end of November 2022 In my ownership 2 mot £100, Just advisories 1 the mot 2023 and few more in 2024 bought new battery £63 and window switch drivers door £20 + £70 electricians diagnostics. But now due service..Oh and had £80 valet But paintwork is requiring lots of attention car up to date owes £1630. 2007 Audi A6 2.7 TDI estate high mileage car 193.000 Since owned done 17.000 miles paid £1650 short mot on purchase so cost me 4 new tyres @ £380 and service @ £180 In my eyes it really needs some work that or our UK Roads are pretty crap. Again had valet cost £100 interior came up lovely and headlamps cleaned because flag up on mot. Also requires another front tyre, but considering 4 new tyres really disappointed with Avon ZV7 brand back in August 2022.🤔What to spend next or buy a newer shape Ford Mondeo Titanium Estate (roomy). 2002/52 Mercedes CLK 320 owned 8 years so far Loved it till I drove Audi.. But love the colour and interior contrasts paid £1200 back when I was 52 in 2016 and the registration sold it to me OU52 TJX Its low mileage for the year this years mot cost me £223 It has vast room for improvements..🤔 2002/52 Astra Bertone 2.2 Convertible again owned since 2016 I bought it for £350. Back in September 2016 I was told they replaced the engine (new engine had 60K) This years MOT really cost me, I don't think I researched enough for the Exhaust or left it to last minute I hate winter months for MOT and any required work, But instead of having a fail sheet to work off I went with a few of last years advisories two Tyres and rear exhaust section, Invested in Stainless steel rear 🤔I gaffer taped my rear bumper back on Looked much better. Then had £50 mot it failed and another swift £253 to get sorted. Not exactly cheap,£783 And yet to really improve this car it really needs a wire brushing and Lano guarding. I was tempted to buy one already mot for £1500 but I know my car its runs a bit rough but garage last year never really did what I wanted.. I really think its a coil pack. Almost there Last August treated myself to a Jaguar XJ8 Sovereign 4.0 liter in Burgundy 2001 Right now this car has a very flat battery as it stood next to my Transit van in a car park. This cost me £2200 not really spent anything on it just yet apart from about £100 quid in fuel. As When I put my classic car insurance policy I opted for 2000 miles in a year and my years premium cost me £485.53. This is my DILEMMA It requires 4 new tyres its not getting part worn nor budget My van and Mercedes run on FALKIN TYRES pretty good tyres, but its a Jaguar it is on P6000'S. I would love to have storage of my own to really look after my selected cars How much per month do you pay for your barn storage..? Great video as always I didn't know you owned a rover 75 estate, my honesty is I would love a couple of MGF's se /TF and mono plus the later Jaguar 4.0 V8 2008 Car oh not forgetting a Morris Minor...2 door saloon.

Thanks for the comment; really interesting to read through the details of your current cars and all the work you are doing. You've got some nice vehicles there and great you are passionate about them, preserving and improving them is what it is all about. 👍 I do have the barn at a fairly good rate as it belongs to a family member, but it is not the 'forever home' for my cars... I am working on that but I think it'll take me until 2027 to realise it. I will feature it all on my Channel. Thanks so much for watching and for the support.

Ive got this ich for a MK1 Focus RS, is it a case of don't meet your heroes? Could i spend £20k on a golf GTi and have a far better experience? I suppose it's not about that really....
@cornishcarcollectors8 ай бұрын
Thank you for the comment. If a Focus RS Mk1 is on your ‘bucket list’ of cars to own then go for it. Not only are they iconic, both in design and the way they drive, but also they are currently the cheapest they’re ever going to be (they are only going up. Buy and enjoy the Focus (the experience is awesome) then sell it and buy a Golf (which will have depreciated!). Thank you for watching my video.
