I didn’t expect to see steam action in this one! I saw 425’s old tender, 2102 steamed up, and 425’s tender.

Glad you enjoyed that! It surprised me too one day I looked up and saw 425's old tender go past my office window. Glad I was able to get out to catch it before they moved it to the Cressona yard.

Railroading and railfan adventures are alive and well in PA...between Reading & Norther with the restored 2102, with ever strong activities at Strasburg and the wonderful museum collection there, and the amazing, amazing comeback of EBT, getting steam locos restored, trackwork including restoring trackage that haven't been used in over 40 years, and of course the amazing restorations of the buildings and shops at EBT and then there is the beautiful collection of streetcars at the Rock Hill Trolley museum and their ongoing amazing restoration work. Even the Everett Railroad in Holidaysburg, near Altoona is running their steam locomotive a few times a year!

I totally agree! I'm very fortunate to live in such a great area for railroading - both past and present.

Hi Jamie, Thanks for another terrific video. You really did some moving around in June! I particularly enjoyed seeing the 2102 ferry move across the turntable in Port Clinton. Also cool to see the NS H66 clip at Old Penn Haven - lucky daytime catch!
@JamieMakin3 ай бұрын
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I was thrilled to catch the H66 at Old Penn Haven, wished for that to happen for MANY years! It has been a lot of fun getting to a lot of places in the RBMN network lately. Got some other new locations coming in July's roundup.

In regards to 425A, While it is doubtless a former tender. When converted to provide just extra water. They are variously called Aux Tenders, Aux Water Cars, or the term "Canteen" is used.

Nice video Jamie, and one question is where will the old auxiliary tender of the RB&MN 425 go?
@JamieMakin4 ай бұрын
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! They moved the aux tender to the Cressona Rail Yard. I don't know their long term plans for it.

Doesn't NS run any freights north of Old Penn Haven onto R&N toward White Haven and Dupont anymore? They used to. They had a freight from Allentown to Binghamton, NY. When I rode behind the 765 on the Lehigh Gorge Special hosted by NS on August 22, 2015, there were NS diesels at Glen Summit which is R&N track. I live west of Allentown.
@JamieMakin3 ай бұрын
NS runs the H66 from Allentown to Hazelton and back on their Lehigh Line every Tuesday night, Thursday night, and Sunday during the day. They don't run on RBMN track through the gorge though.

Great video Jamie! Question - will you be chasing/riding the Anthracite RDC Ramble out of Nesquehoning on July 31st?
@JamieMakin4 ай бұрын
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video! I'll be working my full-time railroad job the 31st, so unfortunately I can't chase or ride that day. If I knew about it sooner, I would have put in for a vacation day. I've never been to the Vosburg Tunnel, so that would have been awesome. If your riding it you'll likely see me out there for your departure though. I've been working on a striping, traffic flow, and signage project for the Nesquehoning Campus, and I'll be observing how things work out that day to incorporate into the plans.

Hey Jamie, quick question. Are the loaded center beams making their way to Gordon? If so how often does that occur? Great round up. Hoping to see you on the 31st but I know it's tricky for you to pull off.
@JamieMakin3 ай бұрын
Good morning, Kevin! Ah, I don't know as much about freight as I do passenger, but I think a lot of those loaded center beams go to Mariotti in Old Forge. I've seen quite a few going up there on this week's NRFF. And glad we did get to see each other on the 31st, but still a bummer I couldn't ride. I still enjoyed my afternoon's mini-chase, that'll be a standalone video.
