Tokyo Drift was the crux of that, and that's part of the reason why it didn't sell as well. People didn't like the absence of the old characters, and no matter how well the movie presented JDM underground culture, just as 1 and 2 had presented LA and Miami, the message was clear. 4 was the turning point, and from 5 onward Fast and Furious abandoned its roots. It is no longer a celebration of car culture and community. The cars are merely props, and that's what I see in this game.

If i want something decent i would rather play that fast i furious tokyo edition on ps2 (it's not perfect but good at least) which represents the essence of street racing that took part in the first three f&f movies when there was no "mission impossible" bullshit like in the latest movies.

From Underground to Most Wanted up to Carbon. EA's motto of Challenge Everything has changed to Pay Almost Everything.
