In this episode, we talk about the "Heist" Civics from the first movie. These cars were NOT what they were presented to be.
The good news is that they live on in 2 Fast 2 Furious.

Don’t let this video distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system. 👀

The shop I worked for during the time of the auction, ended up with two of the civics and two MR2 spiders. We used them as showroom and parking lot eye candy. The widebody MR2s were yellow, and the other was silver. I dont much about the yellow car other than it stayed at another store location. The silver was in the showroom at my location. They were sold off after about a year. The silver ended up with a blown engine quickly after we sold it. Yellow car I have no clue. The civics.... We had the car that ended up orange, and I think the other was light blue. The blue car stayed at the location with the yellow MR2. I don't know much about those two. But the orange civic we kept in the parking lot. It was an actual good running car, and we would use it as a hotshot for parts and take it for lunch breaks. It was driven almost every day and was put in the showroom after the A/C clapped out and, the silver MR2 was sold. After only a couple months the same guy who bought and the silver car also made an offer on the orange car. And he also bout it. Sadly that car would be seen on the 5pm new on HWY49 south. It had been smashed at an intersection. News said he was hauling ass, ran a red light. I'm not sure about the guy. Last I knew, he was airlifted from the scene in critical condition. I believe he lived tho. I'm sure I would've heard if he died. I know it's not a lot of info, but you can document at least knowing where those 4 cars ended up.

I think the best part about the Civics is that your average civic these days is like, under 5 grand? Usually? Not always in the best condition but if you want a Civic from the movie you can replicate they are so easy to find. It's just they're so old these days it'll probably be a fixer upper job, but a hell of a fun one. I'm saving my money right now and buying one to replicate when I can.

I do have to say, I agreed with a statement you made Craig in your earlier video about how the movies have kind of strayed from the original F&F. I understand the fact that each movie has been bigger and badder than the one before it but I wish the franchise would go back to its roots. Because sometimes its the simpler things that make the bigger impact and mean the most. Yes the first F&F had allot of things that were laughable with the tech talk and some of the scenes didn't make sense like the floor board flying off. But the movie was still grounded in a way that wasn't over the top and you could actually see something like it possibly happening in real life. But the movies as of late just keep getting further and further from any realm of reality. I honestly believe if F&F went back to its roots, where it all began, grounded and set around what the car scene is today as compared to what it was 20 years ago, then it would make more of an impact than any over the top almost super hero level movie ever could. I can't tell you how many car enthusiasts I've talked to at car meets and car shows all over that have said they would love to see F&F go back to something more simple like the first movie. And that they haven't even seen the newer ones because they are way too far fetched. The original was almost like a movie that was based around a car culture that had never been in the spotlight. It felt we were finally getting recognition for all the hard work people do with their cars to show the freedom of expression and the talent of those owners, the imagination of the human mind and the dedication to the art whether it be looks, performance, or both. And though like I said some of the tech talk and scenes were a bit wrong, it was still close enough to feel as though yeah some of us make mistakes like with street racing, but the most important thing is that 95% of us are like a family, and we stick together through the best and worst, and we come together with a common passion, cars. What was done with F&F 1 was ground breaking and is amazing to me and many others to this day. I and many others just wish the franchise and the characters would go back to that somehow. Back to the roots. Now lets take a moment to thank the car gods. :-) I know I am, I take delivery of a new 2015 Civic Si Tuesday. hehehe Big plans.

Mostly because all the rich kids in high school drove modded civics paid for by mommy and daddy. But after watching this movie I changed my opinion on them. My first import was a 97 Jetta 2.0 I modded it and have had imports mostly from then on. I want to buy an old civic like the ones in the film one day and do a proper rebuild on it. Great video.

I sae this in the theaters when it first came. I remember how people clapped and cheered through out the movie and how it got everyone hyped up! We all hit the streets after, itching to race!😆 I had Mitsubishi Station 2.6 turbo, man I had fun! Everyone street racing after watching the movie made headline news everywhere.

When this movie came out I was just entering high school and I was already into cars. The Fast and the Furious movie just exploded my love for the automotive world. I'm more into motorcycles now but every vehicle that I have owned has been modified in some way. My love for automobiles will never die.

I bought a '95 Civic EX, 5 speed coupe in '06 & put another good 10 years/125k miles on it before I sold it. That car, if nothing else, was hella reliable & handled pretty decently for stock. As for your Civics in question, years ago one could check a VIN on Carfax to at least see if it was alive & kickin' & what town it's registered in.

Craig, great video. You should list all the VINs on VINWIKI with history just incase they ever pop up again. Do you think they will every use a 92-95 civic on future movies?

Chev Folkman no, they’ve moved way beyond Honda Civics. Maybe as background cars

I have a black 1999 Honda Civic DX coupe. I have modeled my car after these heist Civics. I have the ViS Racing GT Bomber body kit, and the Veilside style Kombat dual deck universal spoiler. I also have the green neon under glow lights. I don't think Axis makes the Neo wheels anymore, so I had to settle for a close look alike, the Enkei RPF1 wheels. The only thing I've done under the hood is added a K&N cold air intake, nothing else. I have black tinted windows. I also have a NRG quick disconnect steering wheel hub and steering wheel. I also have a car alarm. I'm saving up my money to do a B18 VTEC engine swap, but that will be awhile. I'd like to get the exact exhaust that is in the movie, but I have no idea which one they used. Everyone and their mom tries to race me, but it's only a weak 4-cylinder stock engine (sad face), so I don't race, just for show. No one understands and I get clowned on, but I don't care because I love the first Fast & The Furious movie. If anyone has any suggestions on which muffler/exhaust that looks most like the movie, please let me know! Thank you for making this video! I really do love and appreciate it. You don't know how long I've been searching for this information! I'd also like to replicate the Eclipse and the Supra if I can ever afford it. Probably never afford it (sad face).
