This is the buddy cop film I didn’t know I needed. In my opinion, this was one of the better films in the franchise. It had me laughing throughout with some of the biggest names in the industry including a couple of cameos. I also loved how they incorporated Samoa into the film. They actually filmed in Kaua’i as a stand-in, but it definitely helped to bring the family element along.

Man, this movie was a blast to see in theaters! I had a ridiculous amount of fun with this and ended up preordering it on my Amazon Prime before it was available. Also Vanessa Kirby and Eiza Gonzalez are so damn fine in this movie 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

I swear, at this point they should reveal Momoa's Dante is behind Eteon. This movie sets up the fact that whoever that Eteon voice is, he's had a past with Hobbs. Unless that voice is supposed to be someone that we either haven't seen on-screen yet (or isn't connected to anyone we haven't seen on screen), maybe it could be Momoa's Dante. Fast X seems to be making a big deal about the character wanting revenge on Dom for killing his dad, and stealing their fortune..... but if we're being specific, Hobbs was the one who actually killed Dante's father, when he shot him. How does Dante get access to crazy technology, and becomes the leader of some terrorist organization? Who cares!!! LOL. I hope they tie this in with the "final" Fast flicks in the mainline saga haha.

Some fun facts 1. Eden Estrella who played Samantha Hobbs in Furious 7 and Fate of the Furious was replaced/recasted by Eilana Sua who now plays her in Hobbs and Shaw including its sequel and possibly F11 and F12. 2. On April 19, 2021 Justin Lin confirmed that despite Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw going onto star in their spinoff film series Hobbs & Shaw to Lin they’re still in this universe and they’re part of this family. Which in turn means that a return of these to character in the franchise's swan song is possible. 3. Hobbs CIA friend Victor Locke appears to be under the impression that Hobbs' middle name is Rebecca probably as a running joke however it is worth noting that Hobbs does not explicitly deny this. 4. Dwayne Johnson, John Cena, Roman Reigns and Ronda Rousey are the only WWE stars to be apart of the franchise. 5. Eteon Director was also portrayed by Ryan Reynolds 6. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's real life Mother Ata Johnson repeatedly asked if she could play Sefina Hobbs (Luke's Mom) in the film. Since she had no experience in acting Lori Pelenise Tuisano took on the roll instead. 7. A deleted scene shown in the trailer depicts Brixton's supposed date of death of having transpired in 2014. However in the movie itself Brixton's supposed death came at the hands of Deckard Shaw during the latter's time as an MI6 agent in 2011. 8. Brixton Lore is the third main antagonist in the Fast & Furious franchise to be killed following Johnny Tran and Hernan Reyes and preceding Otto. 9. This fourth time Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart work together (Central Intelligence, Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle & Jumanji the Next Level) later fifth time for DC League of Super Pets 10. Despite flashback scenes of Hobbs & Shaw depicting Hattie and Deckard Shaw to be around the same age and growing up together as children Deckard was born in 1973 with his actor Jason Statham being born in 1967 whereas Hattie's actress Vanessa Kirby was born circa 1988 giving the pair a twenty-one year difference. Admittedly though the actors' ages don't necessary match up to their character's.

End of summer 2019. The masses who love big action films (like me) got what they needed. Extreme action, great humor and totally acceptable outlandisness. The Transporter with Statham and The Scorpion King with Johnson in 2002, they became action heroes. They both have great chemistry and if not for F8, i don't think it would've fit as good. H&S raised a lot of hell and I loved it. David Leitch is indeed one of the best new filmmakers in the action genre Definitely took things higher than expected. Regardless of the controversy with Johnson and this franchise or any other, I'm hoping he's able to get back into doing big movies again.
