A nice looking 212 Bob! I believe the Rx pack between the two drive batteries is the standard setup. These run on 12v with the two 6v batteries in series. Standard packs are 3500mah but you still get 1-2 hours out of this.

That is a nice kit! But your right that tilting when doing a static dive is pretty extreme. Is this kit still available?

Another nice build and review. Doesn’t it seem like the scopes etc. are backwards in operation? Why would a sub want its periscopes up while surfaced and down when submerged?

Not sure it's an actual Engel 212 kit Bob. I have an identical kit manufactured by a Germany company by the name of Robbe, I also have their U47 boat which is about 85% finished and has the Engel piston tank.

Sorry, but you're mistaken. The Robbe kit is much larger at 1/40 scale, and has totally different masts. I'm pretty darned sure this is an Engel kit.

@@RCSubGuy Thanks for correcting me Bob, my kit has not been started and I haven't looked at it in a few years, but thinking about it your are right the Robbe kit is much larger. I will get it built one day.👍

engel hasn't sold it for some time, I was tempted by 212 arkoroyal, never seen anything worse, imprecise, insufficient instructions, made without the slightest practical sense. a nightmare kit

Arkmodel hull kits are great. Their cylinders are garbage.
