With the Firebirds they never said they were the prototypes, they wanted them because they were the 1st and 2nd Firebirds ever made, and Richard did not pay $300K for them, he bought them for $70K as a pair from a guy in Connecticut, he sold them before they even started fixing them for $300 or $350K and agreed to fix them for another $300K, that was what the episode was about, them getting them fixed in a 60 day deadline and if they went any days over the deadline they would lose $10K a day off the total amount Richard was due. I don't know if the channel who created this video did their research or just saw one of those phony list on some website and went off that information, but they're wrong. Also, they made the deadline with a few small details like the correct gearknob still waiting to be sent to them but the buyer let them off and gave them the money because he knew they would continue on with the small details. The buyer bought them to put them in a museum which he did, and they sat their for a few years, I don't know if they were sold when they left the museum and for how much, but I thought people should know the truth about this since the video is completely wrong, Richard actually made $580K profit minus labor on the builds. Those who make KZbin videos you should do your research before posting because people will call you out for the mistakes.

@@blueblood76 the narrator of the video gets a lot of things wrong in this video. In the show he supposedly was not going to attempt to repair the Mustang at all because the whole thing made him sick. So its possible he lost the entire 50K he had invested in the car, parts and labor cost not repair cost. He also got the story about the Firebirds completely wrong too. Richard new from day one they were Firebird number one and two off the assembly line and no one on the show represented them as prototype cars. GM almost never sells any prototype and when one does accidently get sold they will pay top dollar to get it back. He also did not lose any money on them as he sold the cars and was paid to restore them. The buyer he sold them to had to sell them a few years later and he lost a large sum of money on them. Most of this video is bullspit.

@@Killsnapz Again i'm going off of what narr said. I know car will not take 50K to fix. Also Ricard is not dumb and would not just leave damaged car $$$ that his guys fix everyday. That;s what they do. Also The parts for that all can be had aftermarket and cheap. If car takes 10K for his guys to fix, Richard does no car work. So he just writes check. Fix car for 10K sell for 50K make 40K or let car rot? And again i'm stating either narr or anyone else that says 50K to fix car is not right that's all

I watched the show for a few seasons and then got tired of it, especially when Aaron left. It seemed every show ended with "Yeah we dropped a million horsepower engine into this thing and slammed it and it's the greatest vehicle ever". I sent several suggestions to them including one where I said they should get a car like a 60's Falcon and drop a four cyl ecoboost making over 300 HP into it and keep the rest totally stock with the exception of detroit steel wheels...just for a change. It's JMO that anyone can drop a ridiculously big motor into a car and burn wheels but it takes talent to put a smaller motor in that can still give you great performance while still delivering 30 mpg.

I had my crew with me and was playing pool. Out of nowhere he comes up and starts asking all these questions. Just met the guy and he is asking how much money I made, how much did I have. I save that episode. And I live in Fort Worth. I saw when the guy hit the mustang. If you don’t have at least liability insurance in texas you vehicle can get towed and you get fined, that’s the law. But many cops are lenient and let them go. Now you’re really not gonna tell me a multimillion dollar operation like GMG doesn’t have insurance to cover the vehicles they build. And for the fuckers that don’t have insurance. Get some, it could save you from the wrath of drivers like me that do have it. And if you don’t have insurance and you hit my vehicle, the law will be the least of your worries.

This video has so much wrong info!! The firebird thing is total crap! They absolutely did not sell on eBay for 30k or whatever made up number you said cause i would have bought them. Richard generally does lose at auctions which I have seen first hand, and he never includes the cost of labor in the final expense but I can assure you he doesn't make shit at an auction but its great advertising.

I really have no idea what this guy is talking about when it comes to the Firebirds. I seen all those episodes and I never once heard them say that they were prototypes. They clearly said on the show that they were the very first 2 Firebirds ever made to come off the assembly line. Numbers 1 and 2. Also a couple episodes later, one of Richards rich buddies gave him 5 or 6 hundred million for them, cant remember now. Richard has the 2 cars back now, so dont know if he bought them back or not or if it is all bullshit, but I definitely didnt see or hear anything even remotely close to what this guy is claiming.

You can watch it on KZbin until they give him a better contact or he is picked up by another network, the dude was being screwed by discovery he couldn't post any thing on social media without approval and had to promote anything they wanted that had nothing to do with him just because it was in his contract when he was first pitching fast & loud.
