@internet_internet
@internet_internet 3 жыл бұрын
@@MattKeller Makes sense, just a mess of a situation. Makes it difficult on the heirs if they’re not prepared for it. My old man has a similar mentality, although he only has 1.5 buildings filled with stuff, and we’ve whittled it down to two cars now, one of them being a daily, the other a project. Still a bunch of stuff left to go through, but now it’s somewhat manageable. I even constructed a weatherproof steel building attachment onto his pre-existing shop to help create more floor & wall space. Made it out of scratch materials. He leaves most of the laborious work to me, naturally. But it’s been really important for me as his son to have helped & continue to help go through & organize his mess. He gets to see some completion, and I either have to do it now with him here, or do it later without. It’s much better to do it with him here.

His last head mechanic Aaron takes 1 year+ per project at his new shop. Although i think he only has one employee. Gas Monkey isn't a true shop. It's a film set with a Gas Monkey merch shop next door. Richard is the "star" and his lackeys are his co stars. He knows KZbin, endorsement deals, and selling merch are where the money's at. And I'm not knocking his hustle, he has a good business sense.

Because when they buy this stuff it isn't worth nearly as much. Some of this stuff was probably acquired for free

Ideas for conversions. Personally I’d like to see a supercharged m54b30. But have also seen the 335i engine (turbo), bmw 4.4v8, but also if you want some really wild card unusual ideas for a swap I’d love to see maybe an LS, small block Chevy, 350z v6, rotary, v8 Mercedes engine, Volvo or Saab turbo lump. Just some really wild ideas 😂

Wow that old man said he has been collecting cars for decades but he obviously doesn’t take care of any of them. What a bad hobby to have. Flat tires and rust everywhere. Cars buried in trees and bushes. How is that a collection?

There was Dentist where I lived like this, he had probably 70 Jaguars from the 30s to 90s. Had a warehouse stacked w parts and such thought it was all gold. Never finished any of them and died all sold for pennies.
