I don’t really understand how ssd works. I want my 2016 iMac to run faster but i don’t wanna delete or transfer all the pics and vids i have in that iMac. Will an ssd really solve all my problems 👆🏼?

yeah just get a 10gbps model. OR you can get this and wait for an eventual upgrade to your system

Do these faster ssd bays have higher power requirements? I have something similar and tried plugging into my android phone though usb c and it complained about power requirements

not necessarily. some brands are more efficient than others. It would more the enclosure itself that might be drawing too much power

TLDR; this thing is legit usb4 speeds, ensure good adhesion of the thermal pad
