Vaccine check is being abolished on the 15th December anywhere in nsw. This particular one did have checks. But after 15 December no more checks.

Very cool vid. What's the story with cars slowing down? Is it to keep them street legal?

If a street car goes under 10 seconds and that car doesn't have a parachute or roll cage those cars get asked to leave the track and can only return to race once those safety devices are fitted. The cut off was under 10 seconds but may have gone up to under 11. Sydney Dragway may have changed from IHRA to ANDRA and the cutoff could have changed but I'm not sure on it. So these guys take off strong then back off to stay under so they get more runs on the night then may give it all on the last run to see their real time then set the car up with the safety devices for next time. Some just give it all and back off as they can still see if changes they've made with a tune or new bits has made a difference. These are the reasons I know of but there could be more. I think because it's street car drag racing, if cars run quicker than 11 seconds they get kicked off the track if they have no parachute and roll cage so they are backing off to get as many runs in, then probably give it all on the last run to get their money's worth.
