Something that I had on my mind... are the cement jars food grade or good to put like a fruit or something to eat in the cement trays, for example? Is any of the sealants food grade?
@upvibecandleАй бұрын
ESF is a food-grade safe sealant, though it isn't marketed as such. The reason? There's a concern that people might misinterpret the label and misuse the product. While ESF is effective, concrete is a highly porous material, even when sealed. Personally, I wouldn't risk using a sealed concrete bowl for anything other than food with protective peels. A banana, for instance, would be fine, but I wouldn't place a sandwich in it.

@@upvibecandle That’s what I thought too. Although I was wondering what is the difference between clay and cement, why one is good for food, drinks, and the other one isnt’t…
@upvibecandleАй бұрын
@@mihaelaenache The main difference between clay and cement lies in their composition and how they react with water. Clay, when fired in a kiln, turns into ceramic, which is super durable, non-porous, and safe for food and drinks. It’s the same stuff your favorite mug is made from. Cement, on the other hand, doesn’t quite have the same stability. It’s more porous, which means it can absorb stuff, and that makes it tricky-and not really safe-for food or drinks. So, while cement is great for building sturdy things like sidewalks and planters, clay is the go-to for anything food related.

@@upvibecandle Oh, thank you for explaining that to me! I thought it’s something like this, but didn’t have the explanation for it. You are so nice and the best regarding being there for your community! 🥰🫶🏻

Hi Jai. Could you please ask Nancy if she is thinking about putting this products on Amazon for people who are leaving in other countries?? Her shipping is expensive to get it to New Zealand. 😢

OMG. I totally understand. Someone from Australia bought a dough bowl silicone mold from me. It weighs 5lbs. The average shipping was $327. The cheapest I found was $114. It’s so ridiculous. Anyway email directly. I have some alternative sealer closer to home.

I will be making marbelized candle jars with acrylic paint. If I dip in sealer, can I reuse the remaining sealer or will it have some colorant in it?

Did I answer this in a FB group or is it a coincidence that the same question is asked on the same day? I am truly curious. Anyway, you will want to separate them between certain colors or you can split up the mix. Some colors can be used together but you have to be careful as things can rub off.
