Fast Bikes Naked Sports bike of the Year 2023

The KTM Super Duke R Evo took the top spot in 2022’s test, the question being whether either of the most celebrated new arrivals in BMW’s M 1000 R or Ducati’s Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini could knock the KTM off top spot.
So, 1200 miles of European twisties and the Nurburgring were the venue for the 592 BHP on test as Fast Bikes Bruce, John and Rich had the joyful task of ranking the bikes to find 2023’s winner, each rolling on a control tyre that never disappointed, Dunlop’s SportSmart Mrk 3’s.

All the BMWs seem to ride incredibly rough for some reason - very vibey, quickshifter clunks like the clutch is getting damaged. Not what I expected at all from their reputation. All the Japanese and Italian manufacturers seem smoother by comparison.

I got to test ride the Ducati v4s this summer and it was so much better than the superbike version in every liveable way. Nakedbikes are mega now.

I have the 2023 Streetfighter V4 SP2 and it's such a great motorcycle. So easy to ride, makes all the right noises, rides good within the speed limit and if you wanna wring it out it will absolutely knock your socks off. With the carbon wheels and counter rotating crank it falls into the corners like no other. I've see a few reviewers complain about how heavy the clutch is but it's really not that bad if you don't have the grip strength of a small child.

Good on KTM, they made a good one. Love my 2020 SDR, it does everything I need…trips, twisties, speed fix, hooliganism, track day, quick run to the store, head to the gym. It does it all.
